If you read the article, you'll find that major pharmaceutical companies are not interested.

Or in layman's terms, they know that it wouldn't be profitable to actually cure cancer.

It's from Bungie.net fan forums. How legit do you think it is?

Upon actually reading the article, I noticed that it was a rather crude analysis of several research papers that aren't linked to. The raw data is not referenced or sourced (a sure sign that it is flawed), therefore we must remain sceptical.
