Once per turn, you can send up to 3 cards from the top of your Deck to the Graveyard. This card gains 500 ATK for each card sent to the Graveyard, until the End Phase. When this card you control is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard, draw 1 card.

Wonderful card design.

Since Tengu's release this started losing popularity. Even I, being a big fan of this card, dropped it because you no longer need to mill that much and Tengu does the job of a floater a bit better.

I always seem to get terrible mills with this XD Best I've got so far is Vayu and Plague. Still, extremely good card serving as a beatstick, a random Machine Dupe target (who does this?) and being a Debris target.

I was going to note that, but Trupe-Dupe-Scoop format seemed obvious.

True.
But Trooper still has its uses now-and-then.

Good for Lightsworn Decks
But they already have enough-
but, besides the mill and draw, it sucks 'cause it'll certainly get destroyed in your opponent's turn (as it doesn't keep the ATK after you end your turn).
I honestly have no idea how to reply to this.

IT mills 3, serves as a quick beatstick, then gives you a draw.

Now, what are you on about?

You don't need to reply.

I was just stating that if it wasn't for the mill and draw it would be useless. I'm not saying it actually sucks. It's actually a great card IMO.

With a low ATK of 400, you surely won't receive a lot of damage when it gets destroyed[/sarcasm]

Oh yes, because a monster that gains 1500ATK each turn is completely legitimate by Konami's standards

The point is to fill your grave so you can trololol.

The damage won't even come into the equation, because it sets you up to trololol.

And since Trooper's mill is ruled as a cost, Debris can revive and let you mill (but not gain ATK) before Synching.

This card is seen in some LS and Plant decks and I think it's a brilliant tech for those decks. Destroying it is mostly good for dealing damage, since they get a draw afterwards; something you dont really want when you're focusing on removing their resources.

I only said it sucked if it hadn't the mill and draw effects, and now you guys are trying to make noob of me and even neg repped me. Is it because I'm a new member? Even though I'm new I'm not a noob. Guys like you destroy these online forums. Grow up!

Why would you even say it sucks if it didn't have the mill and draw effects? Those are its effects. Yeah, if all it did was gain 1500 ATK for the turn, it'd be horrible, but that's not the main function of its effect, so you saying it sucks in any context is...well, it doesn't sound like you know what you're talking about.

The fact your actual opinion is the card is awesome makes this even more confusing.

Why did 3 on the field at once make it limit-Worthy?[/Cluelessandyouguyswillprobablhinkimanidiot]
It was more the fact it has 400 ATK. Using Machine Duplication would grab you two more from your deck. Then milling 9 cards would make them each 1900.

1900 x 3= 5700. Limiter Removal for game. Even if they didn't win, them being destroyed would net you a draw.

A 2 card combo (3 with limiter) to win/do a lot of damage + draw 3 was just too much for the time it was released, and these days, that much mill power is too much since the game heavily draws upon using the Graveyard.

Personally love it in Scraps... SS Scrap Dragon, NS this, mill 3, destroy this and opp card, draw 1... large profit
Plus U've Got Tengu or Gravekeepers in scraps (Namely Tengu) and not to mention you'll probably have a Meklord in there...

The Card is very good, but its replaceable in most builds except for junkdoppel, chaos and imo, scraps

Still use in generic mill Decks (2 Trooper, 3 Ryko, 2 Lyla) and then a theme, because he's easily debris'd.
Plus, Tragoedia.
LavalSworn... or Flamsworn
and you can typically add 2 or 3 Wulf to that list of Generic Mill based Cards... and add a Zombie theme and Debris Dragon and maybe Chaos Sorc and you might just have yourself Teh Winning Orlando YCS Deck (The list hasn't been released and I have no idea what i am talking about)

The card works better in other places than Generic Mill Decks
and I am not really sure I understand your Tragodia Comment... why? just because it let you draw?

If you hadn't said it confusingly it wouldn't have happened.

What you said is equivlant to "Dark Armed Dragon would have been terrible if it couldn't be Special Summoned and had no destruction abilities".
