[spoiler=Spoiler]"Something's wrong," Eria said to her fellow charmers. She held up her staff, which seemed perfecty fine.

"What?" Dharc asked. "Is there enemies nearby?"

"No, look." Eria pointed the end of her staff at her friends. They still couldn't see the problem. "The crystals, at the end of our staves. None of them are glowing."

She was right. The other four charmers with gems on their staves took a look at their own. Their gems usually glowed with life. Now they were starting to look like dull pieces of glass.

"So, what?" Wynn asked, "Does this mean our magic won't be as powerful?" With this, Wynn tried using some wind-magic, but only a gust of air formed.

"You know," Aussa started, "We passed some kind of shrine a while back. My crystal flashed for a moment as we walked by. We might as well take a look".

"L-lenna?!" Bartz yelled, as he clung to the Wind Drake for dear life. "T-tell me ag-gain w-why I agreed to c-come."

"Bartz," Lenna said, unfazed by the height that they were flying at, unlike her companion, "You know that it's important we see what's wrong with the Crystals. The winds have stopped again, and the last thing we need is for the crystals to shatter again."

"But.. Why couldn't we go on foot?"

The two finally arrived at the Wind Shrine. After making their way to the top floor, the Wind Crystal's location, they saw five girls and a boy, five of which had staves with crystals at the ends.

"What are you all doing here?!" Bartz asked, afraid they were going to do something to the crystal.

"We were just-" Eria began, but she was stopped by an eerie sound. The Wind Crystal at the center of the room began to resonate. It glowed a harsh, blood-red color, then shatters into thousands of tiny pieces.

The group of eight stared shocked at where the gem once rested. Hiita looked at Bartz and Lenna, then back and forth. "You think we... The Cryst... We di-"

Hiita didn't get to finish, as Bartz went for the nearest enemy: Eria.
