Tom please don't spam.

I can see what Matt Groening is listed, its comical genius. Simpsons have become a big deal. I don't really consider alot of people geniuses nowadays other than the Scientific greats.

Mathematic and scientific intellect are objectives, because those topics tend to be. Perhaps the reason your latest opinion is so is because said subjects are objective, despite their names.

The Simpsons definitely have more than simple "satirical and various humor" schemes. One recurring theory is that the family is a representation of Aristotle's or Plato's virtues. Honestly, I'm not so sure which one of the two it was, although I'm sure either of their virtuous standards were regarding the family. In addition, the episodes each, usually have symbols and such. The sort you'd find in literature, of course. Again, it isn't absolutely superficial humor. I'd use an example, but it has been time since I've watched it.

Well, I am called stupid because I ditch school and dont do a s*** when I am at school. But I am still really smart (between 115 and 130 IQ something). Smarter than everyone in my class and almost smarter than everyone in my school. Anyway, I know a true genius. Got about 130 IQ and can count over 500 decimals in PI, you know this (3.1415926535...) and he did all school work he should have done in a year in 4 months. That's pretty neat. He even won a computer worth like 4 - 5K dollars cause he is a genius.

IQ is a terrible, outdated, archaic way of measuring intelligence. They should change it to "can you recognize patterns and do you have common sense quotient", to be entirely honest.

I use the term genius very sparingly because it's a big claim to make about someone. I don't think I personally know anyone who is or is ever going to be a genius, including myself. There is a huge difference between someone who is well-versed and extremely intelligent and a genius. Geniuses can apply their knowledge and create revolutionary ideas, which is why the world-recognized geniuses (Einstein, Newton, etc.) have something about them that make them unique, whether it was an invention, a way of thought, or a new mathematical or science-related concept.

The creator of the Simpsons created a revolutionary television show that not only paved the way for other, arguably worse shows like Family Guy and American Dad, but also incorporates political and social aspects of life into a show where everything can watch it and have a laugh. The Simpsons is a show for everyone; the unintelligent can watch it and get some cheap laughs out of some jokes, and the intelligent can watch it and get laughs while also assessing a political or social aspect of life.

My history teacher in seventh grade consistently told me to watch episodes of The Simpsons, and would request our class to watch ones that corresponded to what we were learning. I'm not saying a television show let me pass history for a year, but it provided an insightful outlook on something political or historical. It's not just a stupid show with cheap jokes. Matt must have been a, yes, genius to come up with something so revolutionary and unique. As a director of such a well-renowned show, I do think he deserves the title as one of the top one-hundred geniuses of all time.

They're actually getting rid of some of the Assessment tests. Like here in Texas, we have the TAKS, which was supposed to be able to determine whether you'd be successful or not through your score. They've found that there is no corelation whatsoever, so it's getting scrapped withing the next couple years.

I always get called a genius because I'm seen as "the clever kid". In reality I only have a reasonably good brain, I'm just very good at speaking and memorizing useless bits of trivia related to almost everything in history.

The only reason I'm referred to as a genius is because I'm the only one that even bothers to answer questions in class and studies little.

Your username states otherwise... BOYAHH! :D

But I'm not a genius, just slightly more intelligent than most of the people I know.
