The only reason we're alive... Is because of boogers.
Yang Xiao-Long
I thought that your Stomach contained just enough Alkaline to Neutralize the Acids. Too much Acid causes "Indigestion" & "Heart Burn"
The mucus lining in the stomach prevents the stomach acid from burning through the stomach wall, and I think the way to quell it is by eating. If you don't eat for an extended period of time, the acid will eventually build up, causing heartburn. If the level of stomach acid gets high enough, it will dissolve the mucus lining, consequently burning through. Once it's done that, hydrochloric acid will spill through the newly created hole in your stomach, drenching every abdominal organ with hydrochloric acid, effectively dissolving them. It's a very painful way to die.
J-Max
That's actually kind of terrifying O_O So your body literally gets eaten away from the inside from lack of Food? O_O Remind me not to go without food from now on.
Yang Xiao-Long
Either from that or from excessive stomach acid build-up I think. I'm not exactly sure what causes heartburn. Stomach acid has been known to partially dissolve the lower part of the esophagus as well.
