[/quote] Well, here's the thing: It's not so much that Blackfeather's the worst card to ever exist. Its problem is it has only 1 application: Anti-Burn. This effect carries the risk of lowering its own ATK, bringing its respectable 2800 down to a paltry 2100, 1400, 700, or 0, depending how many counters it gets. Problem 2: Burn is very rarely played in the metagame, meaning its effect will almost never be used. Problem 3: It's a level 8 generic Dragon Synchro. But so is Stardust. So is RDA. So is Scrap Dragon. Other level 8 generics include Colossal Fighter and Thought Ruler Archfiend, both of which are much better. So, it's a subpar card in a game where Extra Deck space is limited to the best cards. Blackfeather doesn't make the cut. Oh, and people think it's evidence that Crow (a character with a sizeable hatedom) was forcing his way unneeded into the show/main cast by retconning that Blackfeather is a Signer Dragon. Even Rua ended up getting a previously established Signer Dragon even though he wasn't originally a Signer. So Blackfeather Dragon is a weak card, with a BS plot status thrown onto it, for a character who didn't need it (HE RAN BLACKWINGS!), in a game with limited space already consumed by similar cards that have much more application. [/quote] I never played by meta standards and i will never do(I like my decks as non microwavable as possible if I were to enter a tourny so i can have fun and not worry about having to win right now. Better to enjoy a duel rather than finish it up all at once.) It is understandable that this cards effect would be near to completly unusable against non-burn decks since it is considered anti-burn. The card is only good in a self-burn/double burn deck, but double burns are really fun. As OP stated, this is lolsy with Dark Snake Syndrome. I merely explained why the card is disliked: Burn isn't used much, this is an anti-burn card, and there are plenty of excellent substitutes that don't rely on you being attacked with Burn damage. Most cards do have a purpose in a deck, but you also need to remember that some cards are strictly inferior to other possibilities, whether competitive or not.
