So WotC decided to make a broken card even more broken, huh? :P Anyways, I'm glad for this card, may be awesome draw engine for my deck. Most of the time, I have a lot of unneeded s*** in hand
How is it more broken? There are many things that make it worse:

• It costs 1UU as opposed to 2U, meaning it's not as splashable.
• Its activated ability costs U,[tap], meaning it costs yet another blue later.
• It doesn't have haste, meaning it has to be alive for one turn.
• It has 2 toughness, putting it in red's burn range.

It has only the following advantages:

• It gets creature support, but it's in a color where creatures aren't really supported.
• Reusable, but only once per turn. If it survives that long.
• The ability can be done at instant speed.

So, please remind me, how is this more broken than windfall?

Anyway, since I'm probably changing my SekKuar EDH deck into a Mimeoplasm EDH deck when I get Mimeoplasm (Btw, my deck is an activated ability deck that abuses Necrotic Ooze for a degenerative combo), this will fit in nicely upon M12 prerelease.

Forgot the fact that it is at 4 where Windfall is at 1 and only in Legacy...XD
And Blue/Any Color can defend it...from common threads via Mental Misstep

If it's really as broken as you claim, then it will soon be at 0 as opposed to 4.

You can only really defend this thing on Turn 4 or 5 (when you'll have enough mana open for a decent counterspell). Off the top of my head, the only things you can use Mental Misstep to defend this card against is probably 1 mana burn spells; most other elimination is CMC2. If you're facing red, in response to you using the Archivist's ability, they'll probably empty their hand of burn spells and then draw more thanks to you using the Archivist.

Nah it will not go to 0, Creature Status balances it prefectly so it is not BROKEN...but a hella good card...specially for a Core Set...

@Marz: Yes creature in some cases is worst than Spells coz Creatures are easier to get ride of...Spells can only be countered

They're only printing this as an appology to Blue players for Jace the Mind Sculptor cycling out.

I only hate that he new Triba Boss for this set is for...Illusions...(Althought card is decent and helps Illsuions in the set set ALOT)...I want the 5 Original Tribes to shine once again!

If you are wondering
Soldiers, Merfloks, Elves, Goblins, Zombies.
and to a second extend
Clerics, Wizards, Beasts, Viashinos, Horrors.

I thought red's second tribe was dwarves.

EDIT: In Duels 2012, Jace uses illusions. They aren't half bad.

mmm Viashinos expanded to a lot more of places then Dwarves thought(To alara for example)...Althought Barbarians and Giants should also count into it...mmmm

Green also has treefolks and Insects, White has angels and Knights, Blue has Cephalids and Sphinxes, and Black has Rats and Demons.

MTG has A LOT OF RACES to exploit...XD

As said putting the effect on a creature balances it a lot more, however it's still a great card.

Also, people Zombies. Come on, until Vamps got big, or small in this case, they were the black tribe.

I like Zombies more than Vampires...More Manly...XD
