‘MEKLORD EMPEROR GRANEL' REVIEW:

How was this card released?

As a promo card in Japan and America.

Yu-Gi-Oh Anime Information (although I'm guessing you already know this):

It was used by one of the main Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D’s villains (Jakob, known in Japan as ‘Jose’) in one of the story arcs.

In the anime, the card (a machine) is split up into five parts, that join together to form one seriously big robot. It was converted into one card for the real life Yu-Gi-Oh card game.

Japanese Name:

'Machine Emperor Granel Infinity'. Don’t ask me why Konami (the creators of the real life Yu-Gi-Oh card game) changed it to Meklord Emperor Granel. Machine Emperor Granel Infinity is a much better name.

Summary of its effect:

It can be special summoned when one of your monsters is destroyed by a card effect. This is the only way to summon it.

Its ATK and DEF are equal to half of your life points.

It can absorb any Synchro Monster and increase its ATK points by that Synchro monster’s ATK points.

It can also special summon any absorbed Synchro monsters to its side of the field.

Statistics: ‘Meklord Emperor Granel’ (Earth/Machine/Level: 1/ATK: 0/DEF: 0/This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card cannot be Special Summoned except by its own effect. When a face-up monster you control is destroyed by a card effect and sent to the Graveyard, you can Special Summon this card from your hand. This card gains ATK and DEF equal to half of your Life Points. Once per turn, you can select 1 Synchro Monster your opponent controls and equip it to this card. This card gains ATK equal to those equipped monsters' combined ATK. During your Main Phase, you can select 1 of those equipped monsters, and Special Summon it to your side of the field in face-up Defense Position.)

Is it any good?

Meklord Emperor Granel is one of the greatest promo cards ever. It can really help you win games with ease.

The only problem with it is that it’s only really effective against decks with Synchro monsters (for obvious reasons). Still, at the time of writing, most decks have Synchro monsters, so that’s not a problem.

Score: 9/10

By the way (just in case anyone lives in the UK, like me)

When will it be released in the UK?

At the time of writing, there is no word on a UK release (aside from being a prize card). Of course, the card may be available online (that how I got my copy).

You don't need to review cards.

Why?

1. No one asked for them.

2. tbh, no one cares.

I am not meaning to be at all offensive, but some people would probably be interested in this (particularly as its one of the most recent promo cards in YuGiOh).
