Thomas★Zero
When this card is Normal Summoned, you can Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower monster from your hand. If this effect is activated, this card is changed to face-up Defense Position. DISC on how this card makes for an epic fodder for making Rank 4 XYZ's and/or level 8 and 7 synchro's in just one turn. If Goblindbergh's effect starts a new chain, Gadget would chain to the effect and would not miss timing.
Akira
It doesn't start a new chain, effect of summoning another monster is the activation. I worded my reply badly, w/e
How can you say "Gadget Effect Activates" and then say "Gadget Misses the Timing"? It can't do both. [s]Next, Goblindbergh's effect that changes it to Defense Position is most likely part of the same effect that Special Summons a monster, not a second Trigger Effect. This means Goblindbergh only activates once. EVEN IF Goblindberg activated TWICE, meaning it activated, Special Summoned, and then activated again, Goblindberg and the Gadget would chain together, Goblin as CL1 and Gadget as CL2. No way would it miss the timing in any scenario.[/s] It would miss the timing. Was rushing out the door when typing this out and didn't think enough. I worded my reply badly, w/e
If this is the case the Gadget's effect never activates because you can't activate effects in the middle of the chain. That is where your wording screwed up.
No way would it miss the timing in any scenario.
You're right. I typed this all out when about to leave in a rush, so I didn't figure out what Akira meant afterwards. I was focused on the wrong thing out of what was said, rather than "Shifting to Defense Position" would be the last thing to happen when Goblindbergh resolves, thereby missing Gadget's timing.
