Mew 2.0
Its become apparent to I, a YGO player and watcher since before I could count (YGO made SO much more since after kindergarten) that the YGOTCG game has, er, evolved. I just need 1 on 1 help with sychs and any changes after that. (Xy what?).
Guest Konoe A. Mercury
As Manjy once said it's the worst time to return to the game. 2 whole new mechanics are dominating now.
Guest Ravenous Black
Synchros: 1 Tuner Monster + Non Tuners = A Synchro. Kept in the Extra Deck, or what used to be known as the Fusion Deck.Exceptions to this are Red Nova Dragon, XX-Saber Gottoms, and Vylon Omega Xyz: Monsters that stack 2 or more monsters of the same level, then get placed on top. The stacked monsters are Materials used to fuel their effects. Also in the Extra Deck. They have RANK not LEVEL, and the only one that uses a Rank for summoning is Anime-only ATM. Guest Konoe A. Mercury
Lets slow down. No Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon? No Wild Horseman? Where in the heck do I put my beloved fusions? Exactly. These fusions... they are terrible now. Only good fusions are Omni-Heroes. But I guess you don't know what is an Omni-Hero =/
Guest Ravenous Black
Still in the Etra deck. It was just renamed and halved from 30 cards max. Exactly. These fusions... they are terrible now. Only good fusions are Omni-Heroes. But I guess you don't know what is an Omni-Hero =/And Gem-Knights
J-Max
What hurt was when the Fusion later known as the Extra Deck became a Maximum of 15 Cards. Synchros and now Xyz's are a more improved version of Fusion's as they do not require certain Magic or Trap Cards to be effectve,

Guest Konoe A. Mercury
Hmm Fine. I'll let you off with a warning this time. Warning? I love FGD, but I can see that he's not as good as The Shining, AB0 or Escuridão
NumberCruncher
If you want to get back into the game, might I suggest you find 3 of the Structure Deck Marik packs and build Gravekeepers. You won't have all the cards that make Gravekeepers incredible, but you'll still be able to make a pretty good deck with them.

Mew 2.0
Alright. So, in a nut shell, my awesome never-fail deck is useless because The shiney has more than 5000 ATK?

Mew 2.0
So why cant my Freckin' Godly Dragon beat it?
J-Max
Most cards easily have the potential to go above 5000 ATK with abilities. Relying on 1 card is not going to help you :P Especially if it's Nuked the moment it hits the field.
evilfusion
To Summon a Synchro monster, you need to have a face-up Tuner and 1 or more face-up non-Tuner (a non-Tuner is, simply, not a Tuner), whose total levels equal the level of the Synchro monster you wish to Summon. Some Synchros have additional conditions, such as Trishula requires 2+ non-Tuners, and Hundred-Eyes Dragon requires a Dark Attribute Tuner + Fiend-Type non-Tuners. Synchros are white bordered cards and are some of the best monsters in the meta. They are kept in the Extra Deck, formerly known as the Fusion Deck, of which the limit is 15. Fusions and Xyz also go in the Extra Deck. Xyz are the newest type of monster. They are black bordered. To Summon them, you Overlay (usually) 2 monsters of the same level. The specific conditions are on the individual Xyz monster. Current rulings on this mechanic are still sketchy, due to the TCG deciding to contradict the OCG rulings. The reason your deck is probably worthless is because FGD has 5000 ATK, but needs 5 Dragons to Summon. The Shining has 2600, but requires any LIGHT monster and any Elemental HERO, which is one of the most supported archetypes in the game. Therefore, a player using Heroes will probably drop the 2600 Shining (which gains 300 more ATK per E-Hero that's been RFGed) much, much faster than you'll drop FGD. Also, there's a plethora of Effect Destruction around, which will put your enormous, "can't die in Battle, but very vulnerable to effect removal" dragon into the Grave or RFG zone in an instant.
