How the bloody hell do you counter this card? Simply make sure you don't MST your opponent's last Spell/Trap card? .-.

But that still leaves the token, doesn't it? And does his effect work against Magic Cylinder?
No, if Gorz's summoning gets negate by Warning than no Token.

also i would not think so AS the field HAS TO BE EMPTY(Backrow included), for Gorz's effect to go off period.

Not the way I'd put it, but still. There is no possible way that Gorz can work against Magic Cylinder, since a monster must be present of the opposite side of the field for Magic Cylinder to activate without fizzling.
For some reason, I mainly see this being used after taking direct damage, xD it is the best way get your opponent's monster out of the way with that token lol
der, I thought your opponent alls the time burn while you have an empty field.

Seriously, you couldn't tell WHY you only saw it for that purpose.

If your opponent, during the first turn, plays Upstart Goblin and then in some way (Tempest Magician, let's say) manages to inflict 8000 damage, then you win...

That assumes they weren't able to pull off their FTK perfectly and you're holding this.

Why would he deal 8000 damage with the magician instead of 9000? It seems like his OTK would be better if he actually OTK'd. If his strategy isn't flexible to the 1000 Life Point difference, there are better cards than upstart to use.

Gorz's Effect Damage clause is not only harder to perform but it also pays less.

As a consolation for the ones that still want to use that effect:

-@5ds' WRGP the players seem to be able to activate Traps and such after they loose. So you can always call BS when a player wants to OTK there. Not sure if Lotten's Gatling Ogre does all that damage together like Brionac can discard multiple cards at a time... or not.

Not like I'm complaining. Its Battle Damage clause makes it an awesome card.
