Google is a BIG political and Business backer and it has explicitly explained they do not support SOPA and are wholly against it. Obama has claimed he is going to veto it because he says the internet is not the property of the United States and therefore it cannot be legislated in such a way. SOPA is basically giving US-based corporations that power.
