Cutting

Don't cut yourself. It does nothing good for you, it just leaves scars and makes the feelings reverberate, and you cut more. It's an addiction to punishing yourself, and there is no reason for you to do it. If you feel like that, I seriously, and compassionately, suggest you try to talk to a therapist. Not for anything being wrong with you, but to talk you through everything without leaving physical scars.

Who has cut themself, who knows a cutter, why do they do it, and who wants to talk me out of it before I make a huge mistake?

Don't... Just don't... It is a horrible Idea... The physical scars that are left behind only leave a harder burden on yourself...

If you feel your life is that bad, try walking around your neighborhood or look for places where you can relax and contemplate your problems to find reasonable solutions for them... You can also talk to friends or other people you trust... The world is full of fun and exciting things and its just waiting for you to find them, you don't need to hurt yourself...You can always just be positive no matter how negative the day gets but unless you have a strong heart it probably won't work...
Whenever I am depressed or near something like that I usually go to McDonalds and just sit there, relax, and eat food :D You can also try talking to yourself mostly because noone understands you more than yourself... You don't need to cut yourself...

One of the reasons people do it (from first-hand and third-party experience) is for attention; another is because it's popular and is made out to help. It doesn't help though. It's just stupid. I don't see the point in it. You get scars and ignorant people ask what happened. Not like you have anything to brag about there.

I've actually tried to help people the whole time I've been here =o I can get annoyed at stupidity or arrogance, but I generally try to be nice.

It's really hard to understand the reasons behind it unless you've been there. I've not self harmed for 6 months now, and the scars on my shoulders aren't so prominent now (I plan to eventually get a tattoo to cover them, stuck between a Phoenix and a Ankh for symbolism).

I'd always suggest trying to seek help from a doctor or friend, I know it's easier sad than done (I only went to the doctor as a result of being mentally exhausted due to stress, and while feeling like I finally told someone). If you get the right counselling (I did on the 2nd attempt), you can avoid falling to to it.
