I'm happy you understand that, most players still don't for some reason. They don't typically perform the same functions whatsoever.

xyz are usually very easy to get out but as of the moment, most of them have sub-par effects.
the good synchros tend to be harder to get out, but tend to have better stats and/or effects.
because xyz are new and there aren't many of them, they shouldn't really be judged yet.

We can't really compare two different mechanics where the general designs are completely different, to the point where they really [i]aren't[/i] comparable at all.

There are very few examples of Xyz monsters that actually function even similar to Synchros in the sense that they're entirely aggressive, and those are pretty much all Rank 5s.

Basically, they're apples and oranges, where the only similarity would be fruit, in this case it is that they reside in the Extra Deck. If anything, Xyzs make the player think that much more about what to include in their Extra Deck, if anything leading to a more skill-oriented game... Now if only DWs weren't ruining that...
