Shradow
I love using these guys. Beating opponents only for them to show face-downs such as Mirror Force or Magic Cylinder gives me great satisfaction. Obviously them being the coolest is just my opinion, and a lot of people don't seem to think they're very good, but I'm not one for making decks that win all the time. Fun is more important. Discuss, if you will.
Toffee.
Arguably one of my all-time favorite archetypes, specifically for the artwork. And Gear Engineer is actually quite an effective card. Despite the fact it has low ATK, that only means you can grab it with Sangan/Giant Rat. Also, Ultimate Golem is one of the most hilarious OTKs ever.
Premier Alexander Romanov
Ancient Gears. How I loathe you. I don't understand how this archetype managed to become so well entrenched into the metagame.
Shradow
@Arma: Yeah, looking at the picture close up shows dat art. Also, Power Bond + Limiter Removal like a boss. Give them Solidarity or something and you're set, really. @Reina: What do you mean? I have yet to see anyone use Ancient Gears besides me and a friend of mine. The Warden
Oh it's quite simple Reina, they became so well entrenched by creating a field spell that is very easily destroyed and that when destroyed, bring sout a 3k beater from anywhere. And by well entrenched I mean that most are ignored except Gadjiltron Dragon.
Shradow
Sometimes, not usually, but sometimes, Engineer's a better choice over Dragon.

Shradow
I say Geartown & Dragon =/= well entrenched in the meta. But that's from someone who's biased for them, but oh well.
Because Gadjiltron's effect(s) were only worth anything if you Tribute Summoned it using Gadgets. Geartown came later into the equation. Gear Golem was a 3000 piercer. That deserved the "Cannot be SSed" clause, just because of the Ancient Gear clause. Beast was the only other one given that clause and that was because it was a Ha Des with the Ancient Gear clause. Besides, Geartown is really only good for Sin decks, fittng with the theme of needing a Field Spell and dropping beatsticks out of nowhere. Shradow
I do love the archtype, but I find Knight and Chimera kinda rubbish.
Toffee.
Ancient Gears would be pretty efficient, really, they just needed some kind of Giant Rat-like card.
evilfusion
Chimera IS rubbish. It's the only one (excluding the stupid low Level ones like Ancient Gear, and Ancient Gear Cannon) without the Ancient Gear clause. Ancient Gear Knight is a Gemini...that gets the Ancient Gear clause. Yeah...why?
Shradow
Having stuff like Spell Gear and UAGG's eff to summon Golem are quite helpful, I've found. I love when people kill UAGG only for me to summon Golem and then they ragequit. Or they think negating Geartown with stuff like Dark Bribe will stop its eff. Fortunately my opponent had used Duality that turn.
Shradow
Doesn't have to be Ancient Gear monsters, just any 3 AG cards. Say you have something like Castle out you don't need or something, and there's always the normal Ancient Gear if you can get out abunch of them. Summoning a Golem from both the hand and deck is nothing to sneer at.
Toffee.
Ive actually found Gear Cannon and Gear to be quite good. Junk Synchron/Debris targets, searchable via Sangan/Giant Rat, Machine Dupable, and provide nice fodder for Ultimate Golem(provided, you use Machine Dupe)
evilfusion
It's "cards"? Well, most Ancient Gear decks that are worth anything won't run the S/T support. For some reason, I always think Spell Gear only Summons 1 Ancient Gear Golem. Then again, it pretty much does: From the deck. That's the only guaranteed Golem. Shradow
Yay for Arma showing optimism for the little guys! Anyways, they need to print Ancient Gear Statue.
Toffee. A little inconsistent, but it can work. ...Not that hard to do so, really. And since you only really need Ultimate Golem to do all your attacking, you could even Inferno Reckless your Gear/Cannon. Only problem is, you need something like Earth Hex or a way to keep adding Golem to your hand, if you attempt the Fusion Summon.
evilfusion
I do have to admit that Ultimate Ancient Gear Golem is the lulziest boss monster ever. Didn't the anime version require 3 Golems? Or was that just the traditional dramatic anime Summoning method?

Shradow
I've decided Crowler's a badass merely for using these cards. And when did Crowler summon it? I didn't finish GX and I want to see that scene, at least.
