So I might have done the mistake of emailing my personal info to someone outside the country over craigslist.

...okay, I did. Not might of, I did.

So now things are spinning out of control. Even the FBI was brought into question.

Advice, anyone? Also, discuss. Email chain is in the spoiler.

You're grammar does not tell me that you are professional, which makes me trust you less. I have depended on my dad all my life and I always will because he has always been there for me to help me solve my problems like this one here. So if you are just going to ignore the fact that I am not working for you, then you are as good as busted.

As for the paycheck: If it is real, I might as well cash it all and not send back anything to prevent any further scam from you. But if it turns out to be fake, your email will become a good subject for the authorities.

thanks for your respond i think i told you that i will be back nest week actually my agent is there in any thing you want to do with the job and with the payment process i think is not a crime to send you your wages salary and am sorry to say these do you want to depend on your dad till last dey of your life your father can't feed any more when it sees that it time for you won career he said are should not contact any more but am dealing with you not your dad so if you want to proceed get the payment and you dont need to work again so far that you told you not to do it you can get the money and send the remain balance to my agent

I thought my dad told you not to contact me. This may very well be scam. Either way, I took back my interest in this position. I do not trust the fact that you are outside the country while sending me stuff.

So unless you want my dad to contact the authorities, I'd suggest you stop contacting me. If the payment comes in the mail, he will decide what to do with it.

I would if I had the guts to even mention the case. I'm not a lawyer, you know.

Assassination sounds like too much risk. I'd get blood on my hands and be forced to join the military and drop out of college despite all the expenses that drained out of my parents' account from it. :/

First off, the grammar is atrocious, second, The FBI(Federal Bureau of Investigation) is only located in the US (America, F*** YEAH!). Australia might have their own version, but that pretty much means that hes an idiot who is attempting to steal your identity. I'd suggest to show the email to the authorities and let them handle the bozo.

Just make sure you contact the relavant authorities to ensure that he can't steal your identity, because I reckon that's what he was phishing for (well phishing is usually bank details), but it's amazing how little information they need.
