Jace Beleren
ok here is the situation . recently many of my friends have decided to leave yugioh and switch to MTG reason why they left because: 1- Yugioh is getting out of control. ban-list are not enough to balance the game, (according to them) 2- High card prices. sbdnate
Isn't Magic pretty expensive as well? The first is a pretty good reason though...

OmegaWave
It's partly the ban list, and it's also part of the fact that Konami's card designs are f***ing ridiculous now. Tengu? Tour Guide? Grapha? Are you f***ing kidding me?
Ieyasu Tokugawa
2 is a good reason. Yugioh is more expensive than MtG with $200 cards that are considered staple. 1 just sounds like they're bitching at the fast format like all MtG players. 2 different games people! SSJGoten
1 is a somewhat good reason considering that the ban list doesnt ban or limit the somewhat good cards from the none original yugioh era 2. They are pretty expensive and considering you get 5 random cards for like $5 i can understand they say its overpriced
Zeal Ascendant
Magic is definitely cheaper. Why I stick with yugioh as my main card game, I don't know <.< But they're really two different things. Yugioh is fast and hectic, while magic is slower and more strategic. kyop
1) Ok, there are cards that are not in the banlist that are broken as hell, but not I don't think that could be a reason to quit. Come on, if it would be a game with no broken cards I think it wouldn't be fun. 2) Yeah, some cards are really expensive, like Tour Guide. I think konami should make something about this, even if it is a f* broken card, I think spending over 200 bucks on a card is extreme loving for the card. But if gets cheaper, everyone would run it, making it more broken... well, whateaver. Those things = IMO

Zeal Ascendant
Also, I'm kind of experiencing the same issue with my friend and his friends who I play too :/ Except it gets me his YGO staples and his glow-up, so I'm fairly content. Dr. Cakey
It's the old troll logic that if s*** is expensive fewer people will own it, thus making the card less broken because it is used less often.

Jace Beleren
here another reason why i think peoples are leaving yugioh. - Too much complicated rulings. espacially when it comes to explaining to noobs on IRL or in DN. well thats my opinion

-Berserker-
Well, people changes games all the time. People start playing or leave Yu-gi-oh! everyday. Our mission as players is to make sure the ones that come become good.

Also, kids that can't handle banlists need to man up. I remember people quitting when DMoC and Monster Reborn were banned. "Ugh, they like, totally, banned half my deck!" Get a new one, scrub. [/quote] In theory yes, since you're forced to buy a new deck every cycle, but MtG cards are also much cheaper as singles iirc. Like how Glow-Up Bulb is $30, MtG cards usually range in the $5 range at most (with exceptions, but don't quote me as I never got into MtG)
