Don't flatter yourself.

I'm not, given you're nothing more than an idiot who tries to act smart on a forum aimed at children. I haven't tried too hard with my posts but then again I haven't been idiotic with them. You however have done both; you have been idiotic by confusing personal opinions with facts and you have tried way to hard to make other people look small. Basically, you're an ignorant douche; have a nice life buddy. ;D

I thought there was a warmth coming from this thread, and what do I find? A flame!

Calm down you guys or quit posting here, its not like this thread/section/or forum is something to get worked up about.

OT: I haven't read anything further on this, mostly because the ridiculousness of it makes it impossible to find threatening. (Congress' new plan?) I'll catch up with it sometime, maybe.

(B) Covered Persons- A covered person under this section is any person as follows: (1) A person who planned, authorized, committed, or aided the terrorist attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001, or harbored those responsible for those attacks. (2) A person who was a part of or substantially supported al-Qaeda, the Taliban, or associated forces that are engaged in hostilities against the United States or its coalition partners, including any person who has committed a belligerent act or has directly supported such hostilities in aid of such enemy forces.
So if I'm reading it right, that part already says they need evidence. Check 1 working good.
(2) COVERED PERSONS- The requirement in paragraph (1) shall apply to any person whose detention is authorized under section 1031 who is determined-- (A) to be a member of, or part of, al-Qaeda or an associated force that acts in coordination with or pursuant to the direction of al-Qaeda; and (B) to have participated in the course of planning or carrying out an attack or attempted attack against the United States or its coalition partners.
Section B here is a bit iffy, I'll give you that; still relatively checks out. But then we also have the following; in SEC. 1032. REQUIREMENT FOR MILITARY CUSTODY. Subsection B (or whatever it's called).
(B) Applicability to United States Citizens and Lawful Resident Aliens- (1) UNITED STATES CITIZENS- The requirement to detain a person in military custody under this section does not extend to citizens of the United States. (2) LAWFUL RESIDENT ALIENS- The requirement to detain a person in military custody under this section does not extend to a lawful resident alien of the United States on the basis of conduct taking place within the United States, except to the extent permitted by the Constitution of the United States.
Again, I ask. How does this apply to any degree most of you appear to be saying?
My examples still hold true. To be fair some of them may have heard about the bill before the amendment was added to it. And I think you can see my gripe over "evidence". Evidence is supposed to be proven through a court system.

Again, not the end of the world as you've made a good job of showing, but overall a net negative.
Lol, f*** off. ;D I did think, which is why I said it. Josh has extremely valid points.
its true, those are some fancy stars

Umm... What...

Look up the phrase "ignorant douche" and read your post very carefully... Keep your remarks to yourself. I am merely stating my opinion, and you are saying I'm wrong. Unlike you I have remained civil, but if you want to play that game, get your retarded ass out of my face and leave me alone.

Most people on this site aren't really that dumb. I never tried to make myself look smart. You're just a jackass. Icy is one of the nicest, most straight up people I know, on the internet or otherwise. Just because I don't agree with him on something doesn't mean I'm saying anything about his intelligence.

Sir, if you are trying to make a point, you are not doing a very good job. ^.^

And thank you, I will have a nice life in which I do not verbally assault people because they have opinions that defer from my own. I don't know what I said to piss you off like this, but really, get over it.

Seriously? Right after I just said to stop? Its not that hard to keep your mouse off the Post button if you've got nothing contributing to say. Go to PMs or ignore each other, or I'm grabbing my belt. <_<

OT: I read through Icy's post, and I have to still agree with my original stand point. You guys got as hyped as the media over this.

Implying the media got hyped up over this.
Yes, that is what I was implying. Every news site I went too had a go over this story.
We honestly didn't get that hyped either.
So threatening to leave the country isn't getting hyped? (not sure if you personally did it, but like half the thread was) The first pages is filled with doomsday-ish post, but w/e.

btw, if a military man did kill a random person wouldn't he just be killed by another solider? It does say citizen, not civilian. Unless I've missed something.

That may be true, and I have not read the pre-2012 version nor do I plan to. However the one posted for the 2012 year does check out appropriately. And given the rest of the bill (which calls for decreased infantry etc spending and putting some of that money towards Military and Civilian Housing situations as well as funding stuff like the Navy while still having a decreased cost overall; and technical stuff involving those who happened to be detained), I'd have to disagree on the overall net negative part. Now all we have to do is wait for someone to explain how they'd handle the chain of evidence.

I don't see why leaving the country is that big of a deal. I've been planning on doing it anyway. Is moving a crime?

I regret my past opinions as I was wrong... This bill is great! Finally the Republicans get something passed! If the military thinks someone is a terrorist then they are obviously a terrorist... The military and the government know best... Authority makes us stronger... Its so great to see the fruits of the Republicans labor to stop radical Islam once and for all...

Ah, I meant in regards to the detainment of those deemed to be terrorists. From what I looked at the rest of it the bill seems pretty decent.

I thought izaya left YCM
