Couple problems with that.

1) You'd ave to SS this in DEF to dodge Slifer's effect. Trigger Effects go before priority Ignition, so if Slifer activates, you can't use the Ignition Effect to drop it to 0.
2) You'd have to SS Needle in DEF to dodge Slifer's effect, completely defeating the point of using this.

Because I lost a game when testing a Horakathy deck because I summoned Ra too early. Well, technically I lost because I needed 1000 more LP to win.

Unlike the other 2, Ra can't be Special Summoned, so it entering the Graveyard forces you to commit resources to retrieving it. And unless you're going to OTK with Ra, you'll just screw yourself over by giving it ATK power.

You misunderstood. I brought out Ra about 2 turns earlier than I should have, because I didn't have all 3 Gods in hand. It actually should have cost me the game right there, because my opponent could have attacked it (One Day of Peace would have protected my LP) and then I'd need to retrieve it AGAIN, which I already had to do once because his Spirit Reaper cleaved it away earlier in the duel.

By the time I had all 3 Gods and Hora (Ra miraculously going unharmed), my LP was 1000 too low to use Offering for them all, so I'd either need to wait 2 turns to perform the required Normal Summons for Slifer, or have the strategy implode.
