Greiga
I'm not sure where this goes, so I'll post it here. In 2 days, I'm getting a laptop. It's a HP running Windows 7 Home Premium. So in case it doesn't come with one, I was wondering what antivirus is both free and works well.

J-Max
Avast or AVG. Both have Free versions and work quite well. Also get Spyware Terminator or Spybot while you're at it.
Greiga
So if I use any of these and install right away, no viruses shall befall me for a while (assuming I do careful browsing)? Cool. I'll wait for more suggestions before requesting lock.
J-Max
You still need to be careful but Avast comes with a "Web Shield" so if you go on a site with a Virus, a Alert will Pop up in Red abd the Virus will never hit your PC, the Connection to that Site is also terminated. Greiga
I'll only ever be on a handful of sites or playing some Nexon or Steam game, but that's still a handy feature.
Legend Zero
I use Avast and Malwarebytes (both are free). I've yet to have a problem with any of my computers that wasn't caused by someone in my family being stupid.
CrabHelmet
I run AVG, Malwarebytes, and Spybot; between them I've had no problems.
Tentacruel
AVG and Malewarebytes. Get the paid version of AVG if possible, their free version is pretty bad from what I've heard.
CMRenji
I suggest Advanced System Care, it's pretty good.
Kitty
I run AVG. And I've had no problems.
Cin
Free AVG is pretty good, had it for several years, I had it mop a mess than paid Norton died because of. (It took out the internet (bar Yahoo Messenger randomly) and the Firewall). I use it with just Windows' Standard firewall. It was a self made mess like most viruses are because of. ragnarok1945
right now the individual anti virus software are getting very picky I had to make several attempts to get Kaspersky 2012 to run on my computer because it didn't like my Spy Sweeper
Ярополк Пономарёв
Avast for features, live protection, advanced settings (optional), and the woman voice. AVG for simplicity and an ugly interface.
