Question: What does the tiebreaker stuff , in the standings, mean?

Basically the better your opponents perform then the better your tiebreakers are.

For example, beating players that perform well are better than beating players that don't perform so well. In the same stead, losing to players that do better is better than losing to players that don't do so well.

It's used to determine overall standings, so by the end of the round for everyone who continues to the knockout stages the cutoff line is fair.

BTW, not sure if this is the place, but I haven't done my duel yet due to some personal stuff. Namely I was going to my great grandmother's funeral yesterday and today. She lived on the other side of Japan from me, so it took so long.

Anyhow, I can still do it, right?

...you got a loss

Tiebreakers are only important if you have two losses at the end of the first 6 rounds.

Tiebreakers are a method of determining which of the people that have two losses after X number of rounds in any swiss tournament top.

For instance, let's go off of the last YCML. If you look here: http://ycmlegendsseries.blogspot.com/2011/11/standings-after-round-5.html you will see that both Rainbow Dash and I had the same number of match points. We were also both playing Scraps, which should mean something. But, my opponents did better than Rainbow Dash's. 2 of mine (Zen-Psi and Dog King) made top 8. This small fact was extremely beneficial to me and allowed me to make the top 8.

Knowledge of Swiss structure can be extremely beneficial in a tournament. Last tournament, I was using the same software as byak the whole time. This only actually helped me in the last 2 rounds, though. It was a lot of work, but it helped me realize that Zen and Dog King were good enough tiebreakers that I didn't have to win my last round. When I realized this, and realized that I actually like Dog King, I decided to forfeit to him in order to both top myself and get him to top.

tl;dr: rage if you play against bad opponents :c

byak, seeeeriously

also lol jordan getting featured again

his first feature was scrapped. Might as well give him another while he doesn't have a bad record.

So basically I didn't have to type that s*** above. asdfasdljkfasdjklsjkl;s

Well, actually, I did go more in-depth I guess.

Also, the round 1 feature match between Tits McGee and Dian Keto has been posted on the YCMLegends youtube channel at http://www.youtube.com/YCMLegends in its entirety.

Games 2 and 3 feature commentary from Tits McGee himself, so be ready for that!
