... please, do not say that.

... not here....

If you are refering to me saying (or should not be saying) 'according to lolwikia', I'm happy to go along with that.

According to it we're getting Flipangatan, which is just a blatant lie.

How is it amazing, though?

It doesn't destroy, it only works on Monster Effects that "activate", and it requires 2 Level 6s. Unless there's some easy way to drop this that you'd do over one of the other Rank 6s, I dont fully see the appeal.

Also, it says to target. So it can't stop effects that remove itself from the Field as a cost, or activates in the hand/Grave.

It's "amazing" because it's a 2 time Effect Veiler that can actually kill stuff.

Confirmed IRL effect: Its been nerfed!
2 Level 6 monsters
During either player's turn, when a Level 5 or higher monster your opponent controls activates its effect: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; negate that effect.
Ironically, this actually helps me in terms of my fic and the duel I am literally the middle of writing this appears in and was struggling to finish. But in terms of it getting released, what was the point? Especially when coming out in the same set you have Streak Bouncer, which has the same Rank and whose official effect is:
2 Level 6 monsters
Once per turn, when a monster your opponent controls activates its effect: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; negate that effect, and inflict 1000 damage to your opponent.
Because it's a Number.

And doesn't Number 25 have 2800 ATK as opposed to Steak's 2700?
By Number you mean people will go gooey-eyed over it, or that it has to be nerfed?

And yes, Focus Force edges the ATK by 100. So what?

As I said it is actually strange how it helps the duel I've nearly finished writing, because its now worse. Weird. Oh well.

Good news however: Shark Drake hasn't been touched.

I should have been slightly clearer.

The point of it being released in the same Set is because it's a Number. Numbers will almost always get released in the Set following its anime debut, unless it's released as a promo. The OCG loves making Number promos (Number 16, Number 11, Number 30, Number 7, Number 15, Number 56...)

As for it being nerfed, that's just stupid. It doesn't even destroy the monster it's negating, and it has to target it, so Stardust and innumerable other monsters will bypass it without a problem. Not worth being a Rank 6. I think it should have been more like a Forbidden Chalice type effect: A Quick Effect that targets a monster and negates it for the turn or something.

Worse yet, the nerfed effect just negates that single activation. So if it's not a once-per-turn effect, it can just use it again.

Reread by original post and saw the words 'whats the point in releasing this?'. My bad, of course it has to be released as a NUmber. What I meant and should have typed was 'what's the point of it being released as this horribly nerfed thing when a better monster with the same summoning conditions is coming out at the same time?' They could have easily at least made one or the other Rank 5 instead. As it is why would anyone use Focus Force over Streak Bouncer?

(inb4'because-its-a-Number'. inb4'why-use-either'?)

There is no reason. It's actually genuinely annoying. Numbers are usually plot devices that dont work well in RL anyway, and most of them actually get reverse nerfed to compensate for how they lost their "cannot be destroyed in battle, except by another Number" anime effect. Very rarely has one actually gotten nerfed.

Number 17 may or may not have gotten nerfed. We have never seen anything to indicate the restriction on direct attacks. Unless the anime version literally cannot attack directly, because it NEVER HAS (Yuma prefers attacking for game with Hope).

Number 39 is definitely a nerf. The anime version doesn't self-destruct. But it's a good card, and one of the first Xyz. We can tolerate that.

Number 34 is the same.
Number 83 is the same
Number 19 is kind of nerfed. It's a bit of a weird effect in the anime, anyway.
Number 61 was broken in the anime. The nerf is acceptable and still a good card.
Number 56 seems to be the same, but no guarantee without reading the text when Kaito Photon Hands it.
Number 10 is the same. It sucks.
Number 20 affects all monsters. Reverse nerfed.
Number 12 was reverse nerfed. It affects all Ninjas.
Number 16 is the same.
Number 11 is the same.
Number C39 is reverse nerfed due to Summoning Condition. It's the same in terms of effect.
Number 96 is reverse nerfed on Summoning Condition only.
Number 30 lacks the self-destruct and 2000 burn when it dies, which was overkill in the anime anyway. Reverse nerfed, technically.
Number 7 was reverse nerfed to actually have a real effect, not just an attack multiplier that does nothing else. Granted, the real card doesn't give you amazing luck just by owning it, so...maybe that was a nerf.
Number 15's IRL effect is unknown.
Number 25 got nerfed. BADLY.

The problem with Number 25's nerf is it completely ruins the anime effect. Syuta used it on Gogogo Golem (which wouldn't be possible anyway), but he was going to use it on Hope if Yuma had taken the bait. Ignoring the fact I'm not sure why he'd win the duel that turn by doing that, but Number 25's RL effect completely nullifies that strategy. Granted, the anime does play by its own effects and the released card may be different (5Ds did this a LOT), but it's annoying that Number 25 in the anime has little semblence to how it works in RL.

Shark Drake got nerfed ._.

It now prevents Floater Abuse, which was fun.dek, anyways.
That's not necessarily a nerf, though. In the anime, neither III nor Shark revived their own monster, controlled by opponent, to the opponent's field, so it's not a nerf unless it's weaker than the original effect.

It is weaker, whether they used it as such or not. I mean, we've had a pic of the card itself, text and all, from the anime, so it did get nerfed.

The card text in the anime is invariably written with the exact necessary wording to adhere to the RL cards? The difference, if I recall correctly, is the RL card specifically says to Special Summon "that opponent's monster" from the Graveyard, whereas if the word "opponent's" was absent, it'd be ruled like Goyo.

The Anime doesn't have "that opponent's monster"
