This made the game fun as hell...

Indeed.

I once beat someone down using this card. True story. Apparently, people are retarded enough to think that once my Gishki Spells are in the Graveyard that they are done for. Oh boy.......

I hate when people say this card is broken because realistically, it's not. The Special Summon mechanic can overextend so much in some Decks and having a card like Oppression at 1 allows both players to balance and have more skill in the game. I don't think, at all, that it's as broken as people make it out to be.

It IS broken

It doesn't make skill, it makes SWARM GOGOGO FLIP OPPRESSION GG

It wasn't used in an Anti-Meta fashion as intended, but as a way to flip the bird to your opponent.

Honestly, stop being so 2D =/

It would be fine if it was only used to prevent your opponent from overextending, but it was also used to get the advantage and stop your opponent from coming back.

Had a quote, don't feel like searching for it.

"Die Oppression, you don't belong in this format!"
[/quote]

"It is not by my hand I was once again given cardboard. I was called here by duelist, who wish to pay me life points."

OT: I love how everyone wanted a Gold Oppression and then Konami hit it after everyone spent their money.

I guess in that respect it makes sense, I was looking at it more from the perspective of the card itself. The actual effect and idea isn't broken so much so as how it was used. Being able to control Special Summons on both sides of the board definitely makes for a more interesting game as you have to choose your plays much more carefully.

However, I guess when you explain it that way the ban makes sense.

are you obtuse

are you stealing my ways of speaking

@stupid people: Oppression was used for a very disgustingly broken purpose: swarm, gain massive advantage, then flip Oppression. Your opponent is placed in a terrible position and can usually not recover. Then you win. It solidifies your power over the gamestate and promotes die roll formats. So shut the f*** up.
