I know full well what the point of it is, I just think that it's a stupid construct. What's the point of having someone to preside over man and be God's "messenger" when he doesn't receive any messages, ever, and he is nowhere near perfect?
The point is that he's a figure of authority that God can give his insight through in a way that people will believe. He doesn't need to be perfect in order to do that. You don't need a mailman to be perfect to deliver a letter from point A to Point B. All you need is a person that can reliably get the letter to it's destination. There have been numerous morally bankrupt popes in the history of the Catholic Church, but that's hardly relevant to his one, chief role.

When this guy is God's envoy, I'd like perfection, nto sex scandals, kthx

It's fairly relevant, considering just about every pope has a bad rapsheet, covered up or not.

Plus, who's more likely to be trusted: Sex Offender or Perfect Person?

Of course, this has nothing to do with the topid sans sharing a name, so let's stop, hm?

I defy you to find a perfect person in the world, especially with as much power as the Pope gets. And while your at it, find a spell-check program.

As for your last query, what is their to talk about? We have literally no information about this card and a very loose sense of what his ability might be. As far as that goes, he's a Harpies Feather Duster late-game(though we have no idea at this point how late) and a Breaker the Magical Swordsman early game(again, how early we have no idea). He's a Rank 7 that has 2800 attack, so it could be a decent alternative to Big Eye, maybe. He's a Spellcaster so he has the typical support for that, and he's a Dark type, so he has the typical support for that. Until we have more information, this topic is absolutely meaningless and the discussion won't get any farther than the points I've just listed.[/thread]

No one's perfect. That's my point. There should be no damn pope. But you can't use your head without your precious pope telling you how to.

And the card needs to be generic

I'm suposed to pull inspiration from God out of a hat is what your trying to tell me? So even a 5 year old kid is supposed to be able to figure out the answer to the Church's most difficult theological questions? What sort of logic is that?

For someone so keen to criticize me for not using my head, you aren't really keen on using your head(or Grammar booklet). While I've been carefully crafting out a valid purpose for the papal position, your argument has boiled down to little more than "THE POPE IS A BAD PERSON. NO MORE POPE."

It's almost mind-numbing how little thought you put into the words you keep jabbering over and over. I'm done with this conversation. I've given a rational purpose for having a Pope. If you won't extend the same curtosy to me, I have no interest in debating the subject with you any longer.

And yes, this card needs to be generic(unless it doesn't. That depends on what the Book of Magic cards do).

Implying I'm about all clergy, not the pope himself. My problem is a single leader who has the church in his stead.

No, my argument is that he's no different than the rest of mankind, yet he's treated as if he's some prophetic genius

Protestants don't have the pope, and get it done just fine :S

If they're good enough, okay, but as said, they seem like Meiru.

While card doesn't offend me, I still don't like the name for two reasons:

1) Pope doesn't exactly sound like a good name for a monster of its caliber, since the general image I get whenever I think of a Pope is a holy-robed old man (and Hairon seems very far from that, both card-wise and image wise).

2) The irony doesn't sit well with me. So is he supposed to be some kind of holy person with evil black magic?

Maybe Hairon the Magical Warlock would be a better name when it comes to the TCG.

That said, card looks amazing, and I can't wait to test it out on DN.

If they ever make a card like this again, it should be a LIGHT/Fairy(can't think of any other type) and it should support Tech Angels(Like Bountiful Artemis) for lulz
Well, of course "Fiend" would also work. :3

Too bad this card is meh, as the chances of your opponent having a huge backrow in this metagame is quite small, and by the time you get this out chances are they're not going to have one anyways.
