because it's not low-quality fun, pointless entertainment

It's high-quality fun, pointless entertainment

And now, because it brings people together in the name of friendship and love

Powerpuff girls kinda did the first, it was high-quality fun, pointless entertainment

Anf both shows were made for little girls

It's a vent for people. It's fun, quirky, and delightful, and it makes us forget our bad times.

Some people hate it, others are indifferent towards it, and some love it.

I myself will always love it. If we do take over the world, that's fine, and if we don't, we're still awesome.

I honestly haven't a clue why teenaged boys enjoy it. All I know is that the Bronies who originally liked MLP:FiM hate the newer bronies like Sploosh.
I don't hate him and I am one of the originals on this site.

Who the hell is Sploosh?

Edit: Oh, a YCMer with a ridiculous amount of posts. What's the difference between who you consider "original bronies" and "newer bronies"?

Let me tell people what I told them over MSN as to why ponies became so popular.

So hipsters were looking for a new way to retain that trait when they found this. So, being hipsters, they joined onto it and a small fanbase was formed simply because of hipsters being hipster. I mean, why not? At the beginning, it was all just pointless fun and people had a laugh. Then people started to bandwagon. That's when it got out of hand. Way too many people started to bandwagon (at least in my opinion) in an attempt to retain a status of popularity or feel welcome among peers. This led to MLP becoming an internet sensation and ultimately another thing which would just divide individuals.

I watched it and didn't like it.

Its losing its steam, imo.

I actually prefered Season 2 over Season 1

And the musicals in Season 2 have been getting better and better all the time

And some of the recent episodes (like Dashie in the hospital) were surprisingly really good

It may seem like it's losing steam, but I personally think it's just as good as ever, even if interest in the show may be declining slightly with a portion of the bronies

honestly, there is none .~.

The only differences in the fandom I see are "obsessive bronies" and "casual bronies", and "bronies that clop" and "bronies that do not"

THESE are the ORIGINAL bronies. Not Daemon/Rarity.

The ones on this site include, as they are now known, Nexev the Supreme Party, Arakune, Fenrir (I think that's his current name), Stylish Alastor, and a few others. They hate the bandwagoners, or so I've been told by some of them, and pretty much any "original" brony seems to.

I was actually among the original MLP fans on YCM. I just didn't get a name charge to make it blatantly obvious(Then again, I never get name changes to begin with).
Seriously, I just waited for other people to bring up the subject so I didn't seems like the 1-in-a-million oddball who liked MLP.
(But who cares about my story, anyway)

OT: It became popular because of hipsters. I'm not even joking, that's how I see it.

Then some people watched it because of hipsters.

And they enjoyed it, so they aren't really hipsters.

I was always under the impression that it became popular simply because people liked it. Not just to be hipsters...

Honestly, I was a brony for a very short while until I realized that while I liked the show, I didn't necessarily like it enough to actually watch it. But I think I came out as a better person because of it, I understood bronies a lot more and it felt good knowing that I tried something I didn't think I'd like and liked it.
So I wouldn't care at all if bronies took over the world. If anything, I'd be on their side.

I love MLP just for its character developement, episode plots, and general theme. It drives away from old contemporary MLP series' and irks towards a new more goofy and sporadically fun genre. The voice acting is tremendously over the top with a lot of famous actresses playing pony parts in the series. The overlying universe around this series is quite good and its use of pop culture references and easter eggs in its episodes keep me wanting more every episode.

I cannot tell you why other people like it. I only know why I like it and I have no right whatsoever to assume I know why other people like it because I am not them.

Yeah, darn those stupid bronies. They're almost as bad as those guys who watch them anime cartoons where are the characters are 12-year old girls.
>Implying anyone said damn the bronies

._.

I just said the original group was hipsters and random stragglers like Arm... And they hate who came in after them, because they ruined their hipsterness, and, for the most part, added in the current levels of perversion to it.

Ironically, one of the more devoted people I know that watch MLP watches said Anime...
