Simping For Hina
Bronies are taking over the world. You know it is true. What would you do if it happened? Okay: Why do things like MLP:FiM become so popular?
DL
because it's not low-quality fun, pointless entertainment It's high-quality fun, pointless entertainment And now, because it brings people together in the name of friendship and love Powerpuff girls kinda did the first, it was high-quality fun, pointless entertainment Anf both shows were made for little girls

CMRenji
It's a vent for people. It's fun, quirky, and delightful, and it makes us forget our bad times. Some people hate it, others are indifferent towards it, and some love it. I myself will always love it. If we do take over the world, that's fine, and if we don't, we're still awesome. Blake
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CeKjN-tdMkc I honestly haven't a clue why teenaged boys enjoy it. Althemia
Let me tell people what I told them over MSN as to why ponies became so popular. So hipsters were looking for a new way to retain that trait when they found this. So, being hipsters, they joined onto it and a small fanbase was formed simply because of hipsters being hipster. I mean, why not? At the beginning, it was all just pointless fun and people had a laugh. Then people started to bandwagon. That's when it got out of hand. Way too many people started to bandwagon (at least in my opinion) in an attempt to retain a status of popularity or feel welcome among peers. This led to MLP becoming an internet sensation and ultimately another thing which would just divide individuals.
I actually prefered Season 2 over Season 1 And the musicals in Season 2 have been getting better and better all the time And some of the recent episodes (like Dashie in the hospital) were surprisingly really good It may seem like it's losing steam, but I personally think it's just as good as ever, even if interest in the show may be declining slightly with a portion of the bronies
Who the hell is Sploosh? Edit: Oh, a YCMer with a ridiculous amount of posts. What's the difference between who you consider "original bronies" and "newer bronies"?
honestly, there is none .~. The ones on this site include, as they are now known, Nexev the Supreme Party, Arakune, Fenrir (I think that's his current name), Stylish Alastor, and a few others. Nɇvɇrmorɇ
I can't speak for everyone else as to why people like MLP: FiM. I sometimes can't even figure out why I like it. I guess it just falls on its simplistic and classic sense of humor and its lovable, relatable characters. Especially the characters.

Zeal Ascendant
Honestly, I was a brony for a very short while until I realized that while I liked the show, I didn't necessarily like it enough to actually watch it. But I think I came out as a better person because of it, I understood bronies a lot more and it felt good knowing that I tried something I didn't think I'd like and liked it. So I wouldn't care at all if bronies took over the world. If anything, I'd be on their side.

Darth Revan of the Sith
I love MLP just for its character developement, episode plots, and general theme. It drives away from old contemporary MLP series' and irks towards a new more goofy and sporadically fun genre. The voice acting is tremendously over the top with a lot of famous actresses playing pony parts in the series. The overlying universe around this series is quite good and its use of pop culture references and easter eggs in its episodes keep me wanting more every episode. I cannot tell you why other people like it. I only know why I like it and I have no right whatsoever to assume I know why other people like it because I am not them. I just said the original group was hipsters and random stragglers like Arm... And they hate who came in after them, because they ruined their hipsterness, and, for the most part, added in the current levels of perversion to it.
