Sicko motherf*cking b*stards!
Of all the things once again religion dominates politics in Iraq and teenagers who want to be different suffer for it. The Interior Ministry of Defense spouts the emo movement as "Satanic" and gays are threatened with death as punishment by God. Nobody has learned a freaking thing in the past 200 years. Still believing in old fairytales and now look. Now Gays and Emos are being murdered and punished for being different and out of Muslim culture. Although this has been going on in the Middle East for along time, this is stil uncondonable.
Peaceful religion my butt.

The Middle East is in the Middle Ages plus guns. Africa is sometime before the Stone Age plus guns. Deal with it.

If you're honestly saying that it isn't a big deal that people are dying because of what they wear clothes-wise, I strongly suggest you re-look the situation and find a heart.

So there are people like this running around, but American troops decide to kill 18 innocent children and women instead? /:

This makes absolutely no logical sense, you can't just kill children for dressing the way they want, for one it's just unlawful, for any country to do such matter, and if my knowledge on Islam and the Qur'an is correct, you cannot do such a thing in that matter anyway. It's just conformists who can't see that society is changing.

Also, if this happened here in the states, me and pretty much all of my friends would probably be targeted...

Simply put, the world is f*cked up and governments are behind it.

I can sorta see the angle the government is coming from with this. They want the Muslim religion/culture to be supreme in Iraq, and have everyone be equal ny those standards. 'Emo's' and 'gays' aren't in step, ands thus must be eliminated.
[s]BTW, I DON'T SUPPORT THIS[/s]

They shouldn't do it like that though.
We've had a million and one discussions here about gays, and we mostly accept them as equal to everyone else. They are only discriminated by the name given to them liking a member of the same gender.
Emo's are simply us, except they dress slightly differently.
In my view, none of us liking dressing EXACTLY the same (and if you do, good for you), and we all wear different things. Emo's, by Iraq standards, are exactly the same except they like the color black.

Iraq, I give you no permission to shoot me or my sister. Kick your government out. NAO.

One last thing...

World, y u so stupid?

Assuming anyone's actually being killed for being gay or emo and that this article isn't just blatantly lying (hey, it's CNN), it's still hard to make a judgment call without knowing the underlying motives or the number of people being killed.
At least 14 such victims were killed in Baghdad in the past three weeks, according to a senior Interior Ministry official, who was not authorized to talk to the media.
Rights activists claim the number is actually much higher, with some suggesting dozens or more than 100 have been killed since February.
Anywhere from 14 to "more than 100" is a considerable range and not knowing what the number is makes it very difficult to know the extent of the operation or whether or not the same group is responsible for all the killings. 14 within 3 weeks leaves room for coincidence, especially given that this is Baghdad we're talking about.
It said the movement, which it described as young people wearing "strange and tight clothes with graphics such as skulls," is being monitored by authorities with the goal of eliminating it.
If this was indeed said, it doesn't necessarily mean they're going to go out and take such drastic measures as organized, systematic murder. It would however provide an excellent opportunity for any group that might want to defame the Iraqi government to do so by making it seem as though drastic measures were indeed what the Iraqi government had in mind.
CNN could not confirm the authenticity of the letter.
Or the authenticity of anything they report. If you don't associate CNN with a reputation for fear-mongering, you probably should. I predict that more very similar articles will crop up in the not-so-far future that might just so happen to appear to demonize certain Islamic regimes.

Actually from what I read it was because they were dressing in a western fashion that was offensive. ie: Tight clothes and the color black.

Also, there was something about supposed satanism.

Agh, I missed that part. smh

Oh CNN, when will you learn?

Despite the fact this is clearly the fault of the very blameable (and rightly so) religion of Islam, there are still some people who are moaning about not attacking the religion for committing atrocities. I bet if Joseph Kony was a Muslim, he'd be called a "Muslim extremist" by the media. But he's a Christian commander of a six-years-gone Khmer Rouge, yet they don't mention his religious evangelism.

Islam does disgusting things in many parts of the world, and airbrushing or defending it should not be tolerated.
