The first Duel Terminal series features non-stop wars between tribes for supremacy, but none of them had the powers to overcome the others. However, invaders from space, the "Worms", arrived, interrupting their endless war. The native tribes created a temporary truce to fight off the invaders.[/center]

In the second Duel Terminal series, there lived 4 different elemental tribes: ("Gem-Knight", "Laval", "Gishki", "Gusto"). Like the first series, they too fought each other, but for their own reasons, not for supremacy. In the heavenly sky, the "Vylons" descended to cease wars; however, at the same time, deep within the earth's crusts, an evil group of creatures known as the "Steelswarm" awoke and began to invade the surface world. Wanting to protect their homeland, the 4 tribes joined together with the "Vylons" and obtained new powers from them.[/center]

So I started this thing becuase all the "original" themed tournaments lately got me inspired (structure deck, character or no tier 1 tourny and such) and I decided I want to make one too. So in this tournament each player will choose a Duel Terminal Archtype to duel with.

[left][font=Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif]● You may only use 2 different monsters that are not from the archetype you have chosen, and only if they are not used as "monster staples" and they actually have something connected to the archtype (Like Tour Guide can search Kushano or steelswarm sentinel but when it's used in a deck just to search sangan or itself it will not be allowed. same thing goes with card car d\ maxx c, that are not directly supporting the archetype you use). Spells or traps are free for your choice. [/font][i]-Possibly changed-[/i][/left]

About the 'pure builds' rule- it was made becuase i dont want to see decks that use 2 Jurracs and call themselves Jurrac decks, and also I think that it might hurt the consistancy of Lavals (I never used them since Card Card D came out on DN, so I'm no expert but it seems like it is very helping)..but I highly consider letting the choice to use 1-2 different cards to make the weaker decks abit more consistants (let's say, AoJ's will use Black Salvo and Mist Valley's will use Birdman).[/font][/size][/s][/left]

... Now to figure out how to build a pure build that actually works x.x

I'd say no to a pure build and just restrict Lavals and/or restrict the number of NON-pure monsters or something.

And Lavals were tier 1 pre-CCD in Japan, they just weren't AS high.

75% or higher of the monsters should be of the archetype you choose, because pure decks are boring and inconsistently bad. TGU and Maxx should be banned.

@Black:

Best pure I can think of because I use it on TF5.

Because 1st competitive deck, 1st deck I completed, cheapest deck I ever made, etc.

Oh Black I remembered the level 1 thing. It was Chawa. You can actually add 1 Lurrie here for Formula unless Dandy is allowed.

ok so to answer some of your questions:
you may use the extra deck however you want to.
You may use 2 different monsters as long as they support the archtype somehow (explained in the OP)
and those monsters may be from another DT(or non-DT) archtype but as said, they must support the main concept (Birdman in mist valley for example)
and now I need you to answer my questions:
-Anyone wants to be the judge so I can participate as well? (Planned on using gem-knights but if no one wants to replace me I thing I can get over it XD)
-is the double elimenation style ok?

Edited the 'pure builds' rule, made it better I think. If you still have a better idea on how to change it, let me know.

Most important question: You say you can have any Spell/Trap lineup. Therefore, you can technically run:

Final Countdown
Deckout without monsters
Magical Explosion FTK
Trap Monsters
amongst other things etc.

Just get rid of this rule. Being able to make minor changes to your deck is absolutely stupid. That's what Side Decks are for.

mfw tragoedia and gorz are both monster staples but are both more easily abused in verz and steelswarms. Therefore, should Verz and Steelswarm players be allowed to use the card even though it's a 'staple'?

And in regards to Extra Deck. Jurracs get the Dino Xyzs, therefore they are a large part ahead of the other decks. First turn Guaiba screws every deck. Unless the Verz player techs in 2 Sabersaurus and tons of Fossil Dig lol.

Rules on those? Oh, and Lavals will win because they're Tier 2 in the OCG, while none of the others top. lol.

Double Elimination is stupid, so use Single Elimination. Much more streamlined.

Neo-Flamvells should be merged with Flamvells, R-Genex & Genex Ally should be fused with normal Genex. As much as I'd say that Fableds will ruin the tournament, they should be merged with The Fableds too.

Also, mfw no xx-sabers.
