Honestly, if the choice is bring back Metamorphosis and make lower level fusions viable or keep Cyber Twin and Cyber End around, I'd pick Metamorphosis over those two. [quote]2. [/quote] In that case, it's Power Bond's fault *shrug* And I'm having trouble figuring out what decks even benefit from having Metamorphosis to get out low-level Fusions. Argue otherwise? Or some kind of weird Monarch Deck. Or Cyber Blader + Ojama Trio + Ground Collapse Lockdown. tl;dr - It doesn't hurt (aside from Cyber Dragon) and would only open up fun Billy decks more. On one hand, were Metamorphosis to come back (and offending targets that were badly designed anyway, probably including Twin and End since they are just awkward finishers with Power Bond), you get a range of awkward decks made for Johnny psychological profiles. Perfectly fine, and no means a bad addition to the game, but then again, not an essential one (even to the undermeta). Basically doing so would fill out microniches within the casual player niche. On the other hand, were Metamorphosis were to stay, well designed cards that would otherwise be offenders do not become banned, and the undermeta is widely unaffected apart from the microniches. Probably both equally reasonable, and mostly irrelevant to every competitive player here on YCM, but relevant to the casual playerbase. Knowing Konami, they would probably bring back Metamorphosis by itself with no other changes in an attempt to temporarily boost product sales and cause controversy in some manner, but that's on a tangent. In terms of need, second option is probably safer for the sake of not needing to do anything with priorities left elsewhere on the design and development team. In terms of want, there's probably a big group who'd like it to come back with little negative influences on YGO. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

And Metamorphosis serves no competitive value with what it could theoretically abuse gone, and is an older card thus dead to Konami. Put 2 and 2 together.
