All of the cards in a deck must only contain cards that are either from or support a single archetype Example: An Inzektor deck can only include Monsters, Spells, and/or Traps that include "Inzektor" in the name or effect Example: Evil HEROs cannot be used as a deck because they don't have enough support to build a 40 card deck. 2. There can be certain exceptions to this rule, but not many Example: Super Polymerization may be used in Elemental HERO decks Example: Effect Veiler may or may not be universally usable (TBD) 3. This format follows its own banlist, which is to be determined This format potentially has some interesting ideas. I've done things like this before, like building an all Inzektor deck or an all Blackwing deck, but I want to see what certain decks would stand out in something like this. Notable ones are Inzektors and Wind-Ups, which sorta demands Effect Veiler in this format. I'll write more stuff (like viable decklists and banlist) tomorrow, but for now, thoughts? Aside from me being unable to run my favorite archetype, I like the concept you have here, Byak. As mentioned, archetypes like Glads and Blackwings would be pretty good. ... So would Watts and GKs. So Veiler is [i]effect[/i]ive, if nothing else. I'd say @2. What about decks with no unified archetype, but a unified concept? (Skill Drain, for example) And yeah, either GKs or Heroes would dominate, I think, but we would still have a competition. I would totally play a tourney with this format. Add to it, if were counting sub-archetypes as their own separate deck, then "True Six Samurais" cant be in a deck with "Six Samurais". Same goes for "XX-Sabers and "X-Sabers". It's an "archetype" format. IMO, if you wanted to make a custom format and not an archetype format you'd just ban all actual staples, not cards that didn't fit into a specific archetype. For example, something like Icarus Attack should be allowed since it's not universal and as such not an actual staple.
