Yea, sure, it looks good and prevents OTKs. But we all know Konami "accidentally" makes something that takes Exodia a whole 20 minutes to draw its whole deck, and declare game. Which is actually saying something. Since really, Exodia, as a win condition, is now a "HERP DERP I DRAW WHOLE DECK WHILE YOU WAIT"-build, it becomes rather idiotic, and actually more boring then Infernities. Yes, I went there, but its true. Infernities take 20 minutes for their turn, but at least they do something different and actually exciting. Although it first appeared innocuous, it is easily the most broken card printed in recent times that doesn't fall into a set "archetype." It's pretty much common sense that printing generic, automatic 2-for-1s is bad design. No one wants Pot of Greed to come back. One Day of Peace is technically a -1 in terms of card advantage; however, I consider it to be a 2-for-1. By "2-for-1" I'm referring to the fact that it does two good things at the cost of one card. Compare it to Upstart Goblin for example: It essentially takes the downside of Upstart Goblin (your opponent gains 1000 lifepoints) and replaces it with an upside (your take no damage for a turn). "But wait!" you cry, "You're completely glossing over the fact that you're helping your opponent by giving them an extra card as well!" That is true. However, in all of the decks that One Day of Peace finds a home, you simply don't care about your opponent getting an extra card. It can actually be advantageous in both Empty Jar (you deck them out faster) and Chain Burn (Secret Barrels do 200 more damage). One Day of Peace is purely a combo-style card, and most combo decks completely ignore the concept of card advantage. Is it honestly one of the best cards in the history of the game to be printed for combo decks. At it's best it's a cantripping Time Walk. [/quote] It wasn't the discussion of One Day itself that scarred me (I totally understood what was going on there and it was the only sane part of that entire topic), it was the stupidity of people saying "omfg gaize those fukcing Maxxxxxx n EffVeller!
