[size=2]I haven't been on this site for agesssssssssssss, *1 year. I started to get back into yugioh lately, so i might as well check up on my favorite fourm to see whats new, whats changed, and what stayed the same. [/size]

i see the sites becoming a little more like... idk dead? back in the days, around 2008-2010 ycm was bursting with people online everyday, about hundreds of members and thousands of guests online per day. now its like... what 15 members online? and 50ish guests? WHAT HAS HAPPEN TO MY FAVORITE FOURM!!?!?!? omq zo sad mang. I'm super active on the "Realistic cards" section, usually everytime i refresh, there would be new posts and cards every sec waiting to be reviewed and looked it. now LOLOLOLOLOL, the latest post is from like 3 days back. i hope ragnarok is still on ycm, the best reviewer ever, PRAISE. Well this was just how i felt about ycm, and how it is now. [/size][size=2]Does anyone feel the same way as i?[/size]

Seriously guys, if you're going to spend all this time crying about "What happened to YCM" as opposed to doing something about it... you are god damned useless. It's bad enough that theres inactivity... now that I see some sort of activity, It's people saying the forum is dead. Actually try to come up with stuff to do, events and whatnot... It'll give us increased activity, not so much traffic.

Rag is on DN forums in their CC section, though when I went there, he doesn't seem to flood their section like he did here.

Yeah, this site got boring, which is why I started going to DuelistGroundz more often. I've gotten so much more from their TCG section than here, it's amazing. They have a deck discussion section that has detailed articles on decks, and I've been lurking. That, and they gave me better help on decks. Because of advice from DGz members, I don't run Gallis in every Mash deck because it may not do much on the field after the mill + burn + SS, and run a few Spells instead. DGz is also why I use Soul Takers now.

Also, this forum becoming inactive at points of the year isn't bad. People are probably on vacation.

Hah, I totally remember when I joined YCM like three years back :P

I was so innocent back then XD All newby..

And then I spammed the heck out of everything!

Goooood times~

Now I get on.. mmm.. a few times a month.. Miss the old days :/

Basically: Everybody mad at the mod team, which makes sense since for the most part they're absolutely atrocious. What then ensued was pretty natural for a forum that for the most part hates the mod team.

I've been a member here since 2009, I was most active through Ycm's "prime". Looking at it now, Yugioh Card Maker is a shell of its former self. We can owe this to multiple reasons.

- Many 'Lead' members have left. Namely Pikachu, Milk-Chan, Dark. People along those lines. They carried the forum, caused arguments, drama, debate. Now that their gone well...their gone.
- Newbs aren't joining as readily as they used to. I remember a while back there was an influx of new members. To the point where half of CC was filled with spam. Well technically there are meny new members spamming up the forum, I have noticed their numbers greatly decrease. Partly due to the members left here. Who flame them, even try to make rules to basically segregate them from the rest of the forum.
- Yu-Gi-Oh is dying. You can deny it if you like but Yugioh is growing less popular. With less fans of Yugioh comes less people who want to make Yugioh cards thus leading to less members joining this forum.
- YCMaker is inactive. A forum cannot function properly without an active moderator. YCMaker is nowhere to be seen needs to really fix up the place if the community wants to survive. By fixing up the place, I mean add Xyz monsters. Yu-Gi-Oh Zexal is the new show right now. People want to make new and 'cool' Xyz monsters. However YCM can't help you with that. New members don't want a card maker that doesn't support Xyz, no new members equals less members on the site equals dying forum.

So really, a combination of these factors is causing the downfall of YCM. I truly doubt YCM will ever return to the so called "Glory Days". But one of two things must happen to stop this site from failing. Gather all the old members and get them to rejoin, or get a new influx of newbies. Its up to YCMaker to decide which one of those he has to do, and how to do so.

I joined this site in 2008, and went inactive for the second half of 2010 and the entire year of 2011. I came back in January of this year, but I really didn't notice a drastic change in activity. It wasn't until maybe 3 months ago this site just fell in a ditch. The numbers went from 100 online to only 30 in a blink of an eye.

I'm gonna go ahead and say that the main reason why this site isn't thriving anymore is that not as many people like Yugioh now. It's been dying for a while now. Plus, like Tim said, the card maker hasn't been updated for ages and new members want XYZs.

I joined... in november of 2010 I think.. Id have to go check.. but I used to be on this site all the time.. then I just kinda grew into chatango (MISTAKE), then left that for minecraft... (total nerd I know) back to chatango (old habits die hard_=) and ive just kinda meddled here throught that time, making a post every few weeks etc etc.
