Money is just a means of trading. Would the world be different if we used clams as currency? Aside from them becoming basically extinct, I mean.

Think other effects money has on people. It wouldn't matter what form it takes.

Strikeman, you're only seeing the negative views on money based on an outdated belief.

The usage of money is dependent on the morality, ideals and goals, etc. of the person using the money.

I'm trying to get a job. Why? So I can get enough money for me to go to college, so I can and have a decent place to stay, as well as to quench and sate my thirst and hunger. What am I doing going to college? So I can help people, help find cures for disease, etc.

In this regard, continue to tell me that money is bad.

Now, look at the poor. Now, how did they become poor? That is, for a fact, mostly their problem. Some make poor choices with their money. Where does that lead them? Poor. Some of them will just waste their money away for fun, some to drink, some to satisfy their usage of drugs.

Now, in this regard, who is at fault for the poor?

Money is just means to an end. The end being positive or negative.

Money is great. Money is power. Money is survival.

Some rich people are large greedy people. Think of the children!

Why would I think about little, stinky things that do nothing but scream, eat, and poop while I work and pay taxes?

For those who haven't got it yet, I'm trying to play the devil's advocate.

I do agree that we decide money's role. While the poor has caused some of their misfortune, those with money are responsible to help them. Money can be good, but it relies a good person.

...

I fail at being a devil's advocate.

Money is not really evil. Money is a placeholder for goods and services. We as humans desire these things, sometimes to an extent to get by, and sometimes to an extent where we're being greedy.

Saying money is evil is like saying possessions are evil. Truly, it's just that some individuals hold money and possessions in a very high regard. It's not the money, it's the person.

Nothing evil about money. It's through what means you got it and what you do with it.

You stole my post. :(

But yeah, basically what he said. Money can't be inherently "evil". Mainly because "evil" is a human concept and an inanimate object such as money can't be regarded as the fault of these.

First rule, you do not talk about being the devil's advocate.
Second rule, you DO NOT talk about being the devil's advocate.

Anyways, money is awesome when you have a whole bunch of it. It can't buy happiness, but it sure can help...
