Catterjune
http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/By_Order_of_the_Emperor Continuous Trap: You can choose to negate the activation of an Effect Monster's effect that activates when a monster is Normal Summoned (including itself). If you do, that Effect Monster's controller draws 1 card. ... Use it for Aracana Force or something? Nathanael D. Striker
Looks terrible. When do people NS a lot these days?
Aerion Brightflame
Work wells with monarchs. When there is nothing worthwile using there effects on, this helps a lot. Or the a lousy counter to the undine engine.
Catterjune
Not sure about monarchs. I mean, I've never been in a situation where I never had an out for them, and I'm a bad player so I use Treeborn with my Monarchs, and a continuous trap tends to muck that up. But IDK what I'm talking about.
Le Welche Alt
I do recall talk of this Hatcher fellow being stict and yet these rules seem fairly loose and fluid. Perhaps there is something I am missing. In any regard, there must be some way to use this card with say King Tiger Wanghu.
Aerion Brightflame
I run Monarchs badly using the Undine engine to mill treeborn. And i've see a lot of stuff like it being done. Mostly, this thing can just turn things like Undine, Armageddon Knight, and all that into a draw instead of a mill. Which, can be seen as a good thing. Also, i would rather run Lucky chance than this in a Arcana Force deck, since it works along side the other coin toss cards you would probably use. Le Welche Alt
Would not this be a poor choice in Monarchs because it would stop Treeborn from itself reviving?
Counter to monarchs, or when the Monarchs effect itself wouldn't be preferable. You'd be suprised how well this counters Undinemonarchs. Le Welche Alt
I would think against Monarchs once they have the Treeborn setup you are simply giving them pluses.
Aerion Brightflame
You're stopping cauis from banishing, Raiza from bouncing, or even deleying Treeborn getting to the grave. the drawn card is worth the cost of keeping something vital on the field. Le Welche Alt
It should all depend of the game state really. If you have created a strong field presence with a 2500+ ATK monster than stopping effects would be good but if you have nothing to stop their monarch than it may be more costly for you. Either way I would much prefer Veiler or Chain simply for their versatility.
Dr. Cakey
Sending a WATER monster to the Graveyard is a cost to activate Undine's effect, so whether you or your opponent controls Undine, this card would generally benefit the controller of Undine. Le Welche Alt
Thank you for reminding us of that fact. It is of course why the card is strong in Atlanteans.
Aerion Brightflame
Sending a WATER monster to the Graveyard is a cost to activate Undine's effect, so whether you or your opponent controls Undine, this card would generally benefit the controller of Undine.
Oh, so it can't negate the sending of frog to the grave? Damn, I should've won that game then. Someone i play said it did. In which case, yeah it doesn't have a great number of uses. You mean negating the hybridised mermail effect to draw? Abysspike searches, which is arguable better. I suppose the other couple of mermails are worth it, but there are cards I'd priotize over this in Atlanteans.
