It's much better then Malefic Stardust.

One of the biggest problems with Malefic's is consistency. They have almost no way to thin the deck outside of Pot of Duality. They ways they did have either hindered the deck more then it helped or just were bad.

A card's 'brokeness' is concerned via three distinct things: speed, power and consistency (how quickly you can utilise it, how much of an impact it makes, and how much compromise it does to your deck). Obviously, this hurts consistency, but has decent power and speed.

I'm not actually sure how broken I'd call it really.

Hence theory. Power, all you have to do is protect it. This thing is crazy when it comes to power. Speed is a problem, but once it gets on the field and an attack in, you're more then well on your way to winning.

The deck I use it in has almost no problems with consistency. Machina's Gearframe and Fortress, Ancient Gear Dragon x2 (x3 Geartown), This x3, and Cardcar D x2 make it no problem if I draw it at a bad time, since I can almost always ditch it for Fortress. Gearframe thins the deck, and it's loaded with protective spells and traps. If they Solemn anything, I'm just a little closer to winning unless it's game right there.

My only problem with it so far was when the only monster I did draw was this thing. That was a bit annoying.

This isn't meant to be the sole driving factor behind winning, but it's one of the best tools to get there.

I never understood the purpose of using 2 Ancient Gear Dragons, since you only need 1 for Geartown. Is the level discard really that big of a bonus, compared to general consistency of the deck? Same for Machina Cannon. Some people use 2.

It's just a matter of having one on the field already, having a second doesn't /hurt/ the deck, but it does help. Drawing into it is usually never a problem, since either way, it's gonna be used for something, be it Geartown or Fortress.
