Umbra
You can start anywhere you want. Go with whatever story you feel the most comfortable with.
Phantom Roxas
Do you feel like telling an original story, or do you want to write something based on an existing work? Now then, when you say giant monster, do you mean something like Godzilla? Fantasy and Sci-Fi are completely different genres, and if anything, should be what you decide on first, as it helps you decide some kind of basic idea for a story you want to do, and if you want this to be a fanfic, it could narrow down your choices. Umbra
People want to read a good story, and for the story to be good, you need to be comfortable with what you're writing. Pick something that you like, and go along with that.
Bahamut - Envoy of the End
“Begin at the beginning," the King said, very gravely, "and go on till you come to the end: and then stop.” Alice in Wonderland (Also what Umbra said)
Not-so-Radiant Arin
Matt is wrong. You need to plan a beginning first, then the ending, and THEN fill in the rest.
Umbra
Matt is wrong. You need to plan a beginning first, then the ending, and THEN fill in the rest.
You don't reallyneed to plan an ending. What you do need to plan is a goal, what you want to accomplish with the story. With War in the Dustlands, for example, I have no idea exactly where the characters will be by the end. Many of them could end up dead, if that's what their role is. However, I know what I want to do, and what story I want to tell. I have a few key points that will have to be addressed during the storyline, and then an eventual climax to the plot that will lead up to the end. Everything else will have to come on the fly. ?someone?
I'm gonna tell you this straight: If grammar isn't your thing, spellcheck is your friend. Still not sure about a word? Look it up. The internet is a valuable resource, and how you present your story can have a big impact on people's enjoyment of it.
Aerion Brightflame
Good fiction brings its own readers. Doesn't matter what it's about, the setting or anything like that. If its good it will get readers, if its not it will get forgotten. So just roll with whatever you are most comfortable writing.
ListenToLife
-Where- should you start? Your grammar for one. Write what comes to mind; you cant force a story, it comes as inspiration.
?someone?
Tip #2: Not Yugioh. I'm tired of reading about that.
