What Are Warrior-Types Missing?

Recommended Posts

Just curious about what you guys thought the Warrior-Types as a whole was missing to be competitive? I, personally, believe it's the lack of draw power that they have. It's virtually non-existent in any warrior build, despite them being very versatile. They already have many searchers, but I think that's at least one thing that is keeping them from being played more. Oh and if this is not breaking any rules, or turns into a troll thread, please feel free to lock it or I will move it to whatever thread is necessary.

Opps, I guess went about this the wrong way. When I was playing some time ago, a friend of mine used warriors with a focus on Synchro and Beatdown. He didn't use any Archetype Specific warriors (such as X-sabers, HERO'S, or Ninjas), he just used Warrior's as a general (Marauding Captain, Warrior Tuners, etc etc.) To be quite frank, I didn't want to use the word "competitive" at all considering how people would twist the meaning of what I originally intended (and considering the level of skill that many members in this section have, of course). What I was going for is what are Warrior Types missing to be more consistent in play, without resorting to using a specific archetype (considering that Warrior's have many monsters and is very versatile in that aspect)?

But Beast-Warriors and Sea Serpents. o:

Slipped my mind :0 Sea Serpents, only because of the sheer amount of archetypal support they have now. As with Beast-Warriors. No other type, I think, has enough support to say that. A deck running predominantly Warriors isn't a 'Warrior-Type' deck, unless it has relevant support, or something that references Warriors specifically. With only RotA in relevance, it's not a Warrior-Type deck. It's a deck with a lot of Warriors in it.

Ban Gateway of the Six, E - Call to 1, Semi RotA.

I like this idea.

Oh and warriors are viable. Both Ninjas and Heroes are decks, albeit Ninjas don't play tons of warriors, but that's because type-based support in almost every single case sucks.

So? They can be quite competitive if you build your deck in the right way.

That's not how "not right now" works.

Beasts, Fiends, Dinos...

In an average 40-card 'Fiend-Type deck', please explain how many of those directly reference 'Fiend-Type' in their card text or otherwise give you a reason for playing a deck full of Fiend-Type monsters. And so on.

I understand what you mean, but in the context of this topic and my actual meaning, nah.

Missing?

Warrior-Types have Double Lance, Photon Thrasher, Dododo Buster, Junk Servant, Bull Blader, Strike Bounzer, Excalibur, Blade Ninja, and Gandiva.

Warrior-Types are a lifestyle. They are anti-establishment, they are the counterculture, and they are up in your face.

Plus, Warrior-Types have their own theme song.

You don't seem to get what he's saying.

With the exception of Gates, which is obviously Dark World support, none of the cards MENTION Fiends.

It's not centralized around the type, i's centralized the Archetype and its gimmick; Discard via effect.

It's not Fiend.dek, it's DW.dek.
