[/quote] In all honesty, RotA should be banned too in an ideal world. At 1, it's fine for the environment but the point is that it was bad design. People on this forum almost exclusively judge cards on their competitive viability, rather than their actual design. You should judge on both. [/quote] RotA is generally better than Tenki, design-wise. RotA is obviously bad design in a vacuum at the end of the day (which is why it's Limited; its design means it becomes abusable any higher). As is Tenki, but Tenki was born out of an engine. The banlist is still ultimately competitive-based, and RotA is considerably fair at where it is. So, yes, you're right. evilfusion Posted January 12, 2013 Report Share Posted January 12, 2013 Tengu's kind of meh at 2, isnt it? I just dont see it around much, but at 3, it was insanely good. Tenki makes it better, but Tenki has the flaw of being a Continuous Spell, and therefore falls prey to MST chaining. Not that it makes Tenki less good, just I dont think Tenki really deserves BANNING. Maybe Semi-limited. The problem that seems to emerge lately is that some search cards and the like are boosting extremely undersupported Types. Like how Atlantean Dragoon searches for possibly the most undersupported Type in existence, but it's the fact that these cards are being released alongside an archetype that, on the basis of power creep, must receive just enough support and good effects to be insane if played right, but extremely brittle if played wrong. Tenki is at least partially balanced by the fact you can only use 1 a turn, whereas cards like Shien's Smoke Signal let you grab Shi En's combo pieces easily, and E-Emergency Call and Reinforcement let you grab more searching stuff.
