Duel Terminal 404: Fading Trust

In the new world created by the God of Creation Sophia, something is wrong. The stench of betrayal fills the air as creatures, great and small, doubt their own kind and their own beliefs. Brothers are turned against brothers, friends against friends. Soon, many monsters change their alliances to other groups or creeds, their abilities changing to match that of their new allies. Right and Wrong become distorted as new struggles and battles bring even the most intelligent to their knees is awe of the mind-changing madness.

Who will be left after fighting over what they believe is right? And will this world de destroyed and created once more? All will be revealed in this new Duel Terminal Storyline.

 

So yeah, that's the story behind it. Generally, it's monsters (and possibly Spells/Traps) changing archetypes to destroy each other, with alterations to their effects and stats. Any archetype could be affected, in new and strange ways. So here we go. Feel free to add your own cards. Would probably be a Duel Terminal storyline and whatnot.

Gishki Hydro Hornet (Originally: Inzektor Hornet)

[WATER/ Insect/ Effect/ Level 2/ ATK 500/ DEF 200]

If you Ritual Summon a WATER monster using this card as a tribute; You can destroy 1 card on the field. Then that card's owner draws 1 card. Once per duel, if a "Evigishki" monster you control is destroyed: You can banish this card from your garveyard; Return the destroyed monster to your hand.

 

Evigiski Water Weevil (Originally: Inzektor Gigaweevil)

[WATER/ Insect/ Ritual/ Level 6/ ATK 0/ DEF 2600]

This card can be Ritual Summoned with any "Gishki" Ritual Spell Card. Once per turn: You can select 1 other "Gishki" monster you control; Equip the selected monster to this card (Only 1 monster can be equipped to this card by at a time.) While this card has a monster equipped to it; Switch this card's ATK and DEF. If this card is destroyed while equipped with a monster: You can banish 1 WATER monster in your graveyard; Add 1 "Gishki" card, except "Evigishki Water Weevil", from your graveyard to your hand.

 

Grapax, Reptilian Lord of Aliens (Originally: Grapha, Dragon Lord of Dark World)

[LIGHT/ Reptile/ Effect/ Level 8/ ATK 2700/ DEF 1800]

If you Normal Summon a "Alien" monster: You can discard this card from your hand; Distribute A-Counters amongst monsters on the field equal to the Normal Summoned monster's level. (If a monster with an A-Counter battles an "Alien" monster, it loses 300 ATK and DEF for each A-Counter during damage calculation only.) You can tribute 1 monster you control that originally belonged to your Opponent; Special Summon this card from your graveyard. This effect of "Grapax, Reptilian Lord of Aliens" can only be activated once per turn.

 

Snoww, Prober of the Alien Fleet (Originally: Snoww, Unlight of Dark World)

[FIRE/ Reptile/ Effect/ Level 4/ ATK 1700/ DEF 0]

When this card is Normal Summoned: Place 1 A-Counter on a monster your Opponent controls. If this card destroys a monster in battle: You can remove 1 A-Counter from either side of the field; Add 1 "Alien" card from your Deck to your hand. Then, if the destroyed monster had 3 or more A-Counters; You can Special Summon it to your side of the field in Defence Position. It's effect(s) is negated and it cannot change battle positions.

 

Dark Scorpion - Kizan the Demoman (Originally: Legendary Six Samurai - Kizan)

[DARK/ Warrior/ Effect/ Level 4/ ATK 1800/ DEF 500]

This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. If you control a face-up "Dark Scorpion" monster: You can select that card; Reduce the selected monster's ATK by 700 and Special Summon this card from your hand. You cannot Special Summon any other Level 5 or lower monsters this turn. Once per turn: You can select 1 DARK monster with 1500 or less ATK; That monster can attack directly this Battle Phase. If this card inflicts battle damage to your Opponent: Activate one of the following effects;

# Select 2 monsters you control. Send those monsters to the graveyard. Then draw 2 cards.

# Banish the top 2 cards of your Opponent's Deck.

 

Dark Scorpion - Shien the Shadow (Originally: Shien, Shadow of the Six Samurai)

Once per turn, during either player's turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card to target 1 face-up "Dark Scorpion" monster you control with less than 2000 ATK; Special Summon 1 "Dark Scorpion" monster from your Deck with less ATK than the targeted monster. If this card inflicts battle damage to your Opponent; Activate one of the following effects:

# Select 1 other DARK monster you control. During this Battle Phase; The selected monster can attack your Opponent directly. During the End Phase; Change this card and the selected monster into face-up Defence Position.

# Draw 1 card. If the drawn card is a "Dark Scorpion" card: You can reveal it; Banish 1 monster your Opponent controls. During your Opponent's next Standby Phase; Return the banished monster to it's owner's side of the field.

 

Dark World Brethren - Cliff, the Abyss Creator (Originally: Dark Scorpion - Cliff the Trap Remover)

This card is also treated as a Fiend-Type monster. If this card is sent or discarded from your hand by a card effect: You can Special Summon this card OR you can place it in an unoccupied Spell/Trap Zone you control as a Continuous Spell Card. If this card is treated as a Continuous Spell Card, it gains this effect:

# While you control a face-up "Dark World" monster; Your Opponent cannot activate Spells or Traps during your Battle Phase. If this card is destroyed while treated as a Continuous Spell Card: You can banish this destroyed card and 1 other "Dark World" monster in your graveyard; Add 1 "Dark World" Spell from your graveyard to your hand.

 

Dark World Brethren - Double Scythe, the Heroic Rescuer (Originally: Heroic Challenger - Double Lance)

This card is also treated as a Fiend-Type Monster. If this card is discarded from your hand by a card effect; You can Special Summon 1 banished Level 4 or lower "Dark World" monster, except for "Dark World Brethren - Double Scythe, the Heroic Rescuer". When this card is Normal Summoned; You can Special Summon 1 Level 4 "Dark World" monster from your graveyard. You cannot Special Summon Level 5 or higher monsters the turn you activate this effect.

 

Masked HERO Accelerator (Originally: Geargiaccelerator)

If you control a face-up "Elemental Hero" Fusion monster, you can Special Summon this card (from your hand) in face-up Defense Position. When this card is sent from the field to the Graveyard: You can target 1 "Mask Change" card in your graveyard; add that target to your hand. It cannot be activated until your next End Phase.

 

Masked HERO Defence (Originally: Geargiarmor)

[EARTH/ Warrior/ Effect/ Level 4/ ATK 200/ DEF 1900]

When this card is flipped face-up; Add 1 "HERO" monster from your Deck to your hand. Once per turn: You can tribute this face-up card; Special Summon 1 "Masked HERO" monster from your graveyard. The Special Summoned monster gains 1000 ATK and it's effect(s) is negated.

 

Jurrac Desrook (Orignally: Archfiend Desrook)

[FIRE/ Dinosaur/ ATK 1200/ DEF 1800]

When this card is Normal Summoned; You can Special Summon 1 "Jurrac" Tuner monster from your graveyard.This card gains 300 ATK for each "Jurrac" monster you control. Once per turn; You can return this face-up card to your hand. If a "Jurrac" monster you control is destroyed: You can discard this card from your hand; Special Summon 1 "Jurrac" monster from your Deck with a different name to the destroyed monster.

This card is also treated as a Normal Monster while face-up on the field and in the Graveyard. When this card is Summoned: Add 1 "Noble Arms" card from your Deck to your hand. This card is unaffected by the effects of Trap Cards. When your opponent activates a Trap Card: You can destroy 1 "Noble Arms" card you control; negate the activation and effect of that Trap Card, and if you do, destroy it.

 

 

Atlantean King's Double (originally "The Furious Sea King")

Once per turn: You can discard 1 WATER monster from your hand; add 1 "Umi" Field Spell Card from your Deck or Graveyard, and if you do, this card's original ATK becomes 1800 until the End Phase of this turn. When this card is sent to the Graveyard to activate a WATER monster's effect (except the effect of "Atlantean King's Double" :( target 1 card on the field; return that target to its owner's hand.

 

 

Atlantean Bodyguard (originally "Night Lizard")

 

WATER/Lv 4/Sea Serpent/Effect/1150 ATK/1300 DEF

 

When this card is sent to the Graveyard to activate a WATER monster's effect: Special Summon this card from the Graveyard, and if you do, this card gains 200 ATK for every WATER monster you control. (The ATK gain remains even if this monster's effects are negated or the monster becomes unaffected by card effects.)

 

 

Noble Arms - Caladcholg (the sword wielded by "Noble Knight Wildheart")

 

Spell/Equip

 

You can only control 1 face-up "Noble Arms - Caladcholg". Equip only to a Warrior-Type monster. It gains 800 ATK. During your turn: You can send 1 face-up Field Spell Card on the field to the Graveyard, and if you do, the equipped monster can attack up to three of your opponent's monsters during this turn's Battle Phase. You cannot activate Field Spell Cards during the turn this effect is used. (This effect still remains even if this card leaves the field or the monster becomes unaffected by card effects.) If this face-up card on the field is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard: You can target 1 Warrior-Type "Noble Knight" monster you control; equip this card to that target. You can only use this effect of "Noble Arms -Caladcholg" once per turn.

Lyla, Student of the Spellbook (originally "Lyla, Lightsworn Sorceress)

During either player's turn, if a "Spellbook" Spell/Trap Card is sent to your Graveyard (from anywhere) by a card effect (except this card's effect): Target 1 Spell/Trap Card your opponent controls; destroy that target, then switch this Attack Position card to face-up Defense Position. This card's battle position cannot be changed until the End Phase of your next turn after this effect is used, except with a card effect. During each of your End Phases: You can send 1 "Spellbook" Spell/Trap card from your Deck to the Graveyard.

 

 

Honorary Six Samurai - Bladedge (originally "Elemental HERO Bladedge")

You can Special Summon this card (from your hand) by banishing 2 "Six Samurai" monsters from your Graveyard. If this card attacks a Defense Position monster, inflict piercing Battle Damage to your opponent. When this card inflicts Battle Damage to your opponent: You can return 1 "Six Samurai" card to your Deck.

 

 

Fire Formation - Tenwar (named after a star that forms the "Little Dipper" Constellation)

When this card is activated: You can send 1 "Fire Fist" monster from your Deck to your Graveyard. Once per turn: You can discard 1 "Fire Fist" monster from your hand and target 1 other "Fire Fist" monster in your Graveyard; add that target to your hand. All Beast-Warrior-Type monsters you control gain 200 ATK.

 

 

Demoman of the Fire Fist - Kamon (originally "The Six Samurai - Kamon")

This card is treated as a Beast-Warrior-Type monster while face-up on the field. When this card inflicts Battle Damage to your opponent while you control a face-up "Fire Formation" card: You can target 1 Spell/Trap Card your opponent controls; destroy that target. Once per turn, if this card would be destroyed by battle or by a card effect: You can destroy 1 face-up "Fire Formation" card you control instead.

 

 

Brotherhood of the Fire Fist - Wulf (Originally "Wulf, Lightsworn Beast")

This card is also treated as a Warrior-Type Normal Monster while on the field or in the Graveyard. Your opponent cannot target face-up LIGHT Warrior-Type monsters you control for attacks, except this card. During each of your End Phases: Destroy all Equip Cards equipped to this monster. During your turn: You can return this card in your Graveyard to your Deck; add 1 "Noble Arms" card from your Deck or Graveyard to your hand.

 

 

Noble Arms - Fragarach ("Noble Knight-In-Training Gagagigo's" Sword)

As to why there are Gagagigo Clones running around: Kozaky could have taken a DNA/tissue sample from Gagagigo while he was augmenting Gagagigo into Giga Gagagigo, then created duplicates in order to increase the Dark World's forces. Some of the Gagagigo Clones, however, ended up developing a will and conscious of their own, as well as retaining some of the original Gagagigo's memories, and escaped. Those that survived the escape then went on their separate ways, using their memories as a guide (Gagaga Gagagigo wanting power, Noble Knight-In-Training Gagagigo wanting to be a hero, and Gishki Gagagigo wanting to relive his memories of Eria the Water Charmer). There is, of course, the possibility of other Gagagigo Clones still running about....

I don't know if this really works as a Duel Terminal storyline. For that you'd probably want a tighter focus (with a set of archetypes for each attribute, either existing ones or a new set of six that have formed around a specific attribute), but as a general "everything's been shaken up and monsters are joining new groups" it does seem like a neat concept.

 

Your current cards like nice, and seem to blend the original effects with the themes of their new archetypes well. The only one that I see an issue with is Shien, since it does exactly what it's base form does (just with a second effect), whilst I feel it's be better to give it a more 'Dark Scorpion' flavour like the others have.

I wouldn't worry as they're actually quite balanced. Lumina's pretty good and the worst she could probably do is do a Rank 3 Xyz which isn't broken. Ryko's maybe a bit iffy but honestly, I think it's balanced. Jenis is great and fuels Gusto really well. Prisma is awesome. The only one I do have a slight problem with is Wulf as it can revive itself very quickly and with little to no cost. Yes, there aren't many ways to put him in the graveyard but one he is, he's crazy. Can't think of a way to balance him without ruining the concept. Just seems a bit nutz.

As to why there are Gagagigo Clones running around: Kozaky could have taken a DNA/tissue sample from Gagagigo while he was augmenting Gagagigo into Giga Gagagigo, then created duplicates in order to increase the Dark World's forces. Some of the Gagagigo Clones, however, ended up developing a will and conscious of their own, as well as retaining some of the original Gagagigo's memories, and escaped. Those that survived the escape then went on their separate ways, using their memories as a guide (Gagaga Gagagigo wanting power, Noble Knight-In-Training Gagagigo wanting to be a hero, and Gishki Gagagigo wanting to relive his memories of Eria the Water Charmer). There is, of course, the possibility of other Gagagigo Clones still running about....

Oh my God, what did I just look at.

 

The... The flavor here is terrible. This is in no way even remotely coherent, Duel Terminal related, or anything of the sort. The cards are awful and lazy design and there's no reason to take all these non-DT monsters and force them into the DT, many without even use DT archetypes, with effects so simlar to the original that any new flavor you're supposed to blend with it is ignored.

 

This is just... an insult to card design and creation.
