[/quote] It only can't be used as a cost if the card/token must be sent to a specific place. This is why "Send to Grave" or "Return to hand/Deck" doesn't work. Tokens cannot exist in those places, so the cost cannot be paid. Costs that use "Tribute" or "banish" will work with Tokens, because the cost doesn't require the payment to go somewhere specific. There is no card that actually says "send to RFG zone" or similar as a cost, so Tokens may always pay banishment costs. Tribute is a neutral term. Cute Rotten Yoshika Posted January 16, 2013 Report Share Posted January 16, 2013 yes. banish doesnt refer to going to a specific place because "banished zone" isnt an official term. there is no official term for the place where cards go when theyre banished. when a card is banished it is just treated as being "not on the field, or in the graveyard, hand, or deck.". therefore banishing effects and costs work with tokens because theyre not being sent to a place where they cant exist.
