Because I'm new to Fire Fists, I have a few ruling questions about this card.

 

I know it's effect to protect the monster is only active during MP1, so the monster can still be hit with mirror force and the like. But does the effect wear off, never to activate again after the end of that MP1? Let's say, does it's effect kick in during the next main phase 1 after this card was activated? The phrase "during THIS phase" makes me think that the protection is a one time use. But I can see how it can be interpreted different ways.

Yep, I'm trying Barbaros, so I can try siding skill drain. I'm not using the rabbit variant, I'm trying out a stun variant right now. This seemed lulzy, making Barbaros a 3K, effectively 3300-3600 atk beater.

unlike lance it has the advantage of uhhhhhh, being a fire formation so they can use it with their effects. tenken is a good card in fire fists in that 1) it doesnt make them drop attack which they do kinda focus on keeping and 2) as already stated, they can throw a tenken away after using it for bear or whoever else they choose.

those are also good points. in most other situations, lance is better. but tenken is better for the deck its meant to be used in, and thats really all that matters.

From the looks of it, it only negates the effects and gives immunity during that Main Phase. Entering the Battle Phase or End Phase will make those aspects wear off.

 

Obviously, it's meant to be protection against Bottomless/etc.

Pretty much the way to get to Fire Fists are battle phase destruction or waiting until they declare an attack to activate compulsory, since Lance would become suicide when attacking another attack position monster.

Fire Fists hardly need this except as a target, and until Cardinal comes out I'd prefer Extreme Overkilldance.

No, this card is actually really useful. It's unfortunate it can only be used in MP1, but it's still good simply because of the fact that its searchable. Run @1.
