Sansangan

My Gangansan card got a lot of hate/dislike, so I made some it based on feedback from Zanda Panda, AixDivadis, and A Background Character (ABC).

 

As you will notice, the name is based on Sangan`s.

Lore: If Special Summoned, this card`s effect(s) cannot be activated the next time it is sent to the Graveyard. When this card is sent from the field to the Graveyard, you can pay 1500 Life Points to add 1 monster with 1500 or less ATK from your Deck to your hand, except "Sansangan" or a "Forbidden One" monster. If you do, you cannot Summon or Set that monster this turn (or your next turn, if activated during your opponent`s turn).
 
 

 
ABC said that it could let me get monsters like Tour Guide/Rabbit , and Zanda said that you could add monsters "without actually doing anything", and the monster adding part is true with this card too, but you can`t summon it right away. I hope that covers the "without doing anything" part.

 

This recreation of Sangan is designed to be more "balanced" than most people consider Sangan. While this card has a cost to add it, and dosen`t allow Exodia pieces to be added, Sangan dosen`t. This card also has a SS effect that dosen`t allow you to add when it`s sent (if this part dosen`t work, let me know), and even though it DOES let you add cards like Tour Guide and Rabbit, you can`t Summon them right away. 

 

Lastly, I made it Level 4 so you couldn`t use it with Tour Guide. (Even though that might not be neccessary xD)

You over-nerfed it. Like...WAY too much.

 

Sangan was a mandatory searcher when it was sent from Field to Grave. With that in mind, you said that Special Summoning it won't let you use it effect that turn. That's fine, I guess. Then you made it have a 1500 LP cost to do the same thing as Sangan (but you can't add an Exodia card). But you worded it as an optional Trigger Effect, so it can miss the timing if Tributed, used as Synchro Material, or sent to the Graveyard mid-chain.

 

Lastly, you can't Summon the added card.

 

That's WAY too many conditions and restrictions that overlook some of the subtler reasons Sangan was so good, most importantly being the fact it was mandatory. It's now absurdly weak by virtue of being able to miss the timing and requiring 1500 LP.

This is what your looking for, right? Making it optional to potentially miss the timing, and even removing it's ability to be spammed all over the field.

TC's version is a nightmare of drawbacks and other such effects :/

Basically if he just trimmed out the fat and concentrated on the main issues, it could still be playable.

It`s not that turn, it`s the next time it`s sent, regardless of the turn.

 

Yes, you can`t Summon the card added right away.

 

Changed the 1500 LP cost to 900. That better?
