Galaxy Dragun

Monster Reborn is unchanged from how it's always functioned.

There's a slight difference between Monster Reborn and other cards that need to double-check whether a target is still valid. Monster Reborn only cares about one detail of its legal target, and that's whether it's still in the Graveyard to be Special Summoned. If Monster Reborn was actually Book of Life, and only worked on Zombie monsters, and MST chains and destroys Zombie World, then the target might no longer be valid and it can't revive that monster.

In fact, Book of Life does specify "target" in terms of Special Summoning the monster. That's because it has to still be a Zombie Monster at resolution. Monster Reborn doesn't care.

Sure, Reborn could have been made excessively clear by saying "SS it from the Graveyard", but the meaning of the text is still pretty obvious.

Okay, since this thread is about Dragun I'm gonna discuss Dragun.

So when this thing came out in the Manga, I wasn't even sure if they'd make it. Then they did, and it became a generic anti-Dragon card, which is awesome because E-Drags, Evilswarms and occasionally Hieratics. I don't know if the Wiki updated or what, but the effect they have posted now reads thusly:
This card can only attack Dragon-Type monsters. If this card battles a Dragon-Type monster, negate that monster's effects during the Battle Phase only, also it gains 1000 ATK during the Damage Step only.
Battles, not attacks, and clearly a continuous effect as many people stated. I'd say good side-deck card against E-Drags because you can get over Ra-Da without losing anything. Otherwise... well, at least it can hold its own better than Photon Crusher...

Why do you keep giving us such terrible support.

Even with a buff in some respects this thing is still garbage despite being searchable. I consider it worse than Crusher, simply because Crusher at least doesn't have an attack restriction.

It would be good enough without the attack restriction clause frankly. It still wouldn't be amazing, but it would at least be playable outside of side decks.

Oh, it says "battle" now? Good. That'll make it less stupid against Dragons, although being on-par with Reverse Buster in terms of limitations is still annoying.

I still probably wouldn't run it. Galaxy cards don't have support with cards like Photon Satellite, so it won't be able to become Level 5 easier to use Galaxy Expedition.

And I'm not positive, but it looks like it can't attack directly, so its 2000 ATK is really just pretending to help Galaxy-Eyes. When compared to Photon Crusher...Crusher comes out on top.

Crusher: 2000 ATK, can attack, but switches to DEF. Is a Photon, so it can be used as Xyz Material for Galaxion. Warrior, so it has Warrior support like Reinforcement. Has Photon support like Satellite, Trident, or Galaxy Zero.

Dragun: 2000 ATK, but can only attack Dragons. Negates Dragon effects that battle with it, and gains 1000 ATK, so it's a 3000 negator against Dragons only. It has Galaxy support like Galaxy Wizard, but shares most support with Photon Crusher like Galaxy Zero, but without the Photon support.

Support? I don't make the cards. If you're asking why you don't like my off-handed, sometimes-serious-sometimes-not comments, probably for that very reason.

Did I say "better card than Crusher"? No. What I said was "can hold its own better". Read: less likely to die in battle. Does that make it an all-around better card? Certainly not. The fact you missed that the comment was a mocking "...yeah, I got nothing" doesn't help.

Well, I have always wanted a 2000 Beater with no downside to its effect...

If I was making an argument to you, I'd have quoted you.

As ever whenever some new Photon/Galaxy support comes out, I generally wind up having a rant at Konami in the thread, under the false impression one day they might actually be nice like they were that special occasion.

My apologies then. I got mixed up as your comment fell directly underneath mine.
