Sage of Silence

For the Prophecy mirror match. She's a Spellcaster herself so has the full support of the deck, namely Power, Wisdom, Life and Fate. Easily runs over Batel, Jowgen, Veiler and Lock Bird without assistance, and gets over anything bigger like Kycoo and Junon with the help of Power and/or Star Hall. Resolving her could be similar to resolving a Crimson Blader in the Incarnate mirror. Discuss.

Flavorwise, I like it alot.  I believe this card might be a bit of a shout-out to Square's RPGs, considering that the status effect "Silence" prevents a character from using Magic/Skills, and since Sage of Silence "inflicts Silence" on the opponent after destroying a monster, then the opponent is unable to use their magic spells.  Plus, she IS a White Mage, so dabbling into conditions such as silence and blindness fits her position.

Mechanic-wise, I do like how she acts like a Shock Master for Spells, but that's about it.

But Fire Emblem does the same thing with silence, as do other things, I'm sure.

Sqenix did it first.

It's an interesting choice for sure, but I don't feel like it's worth it. Though I guess in that match she's the equivalent to Yata Garasu if you manage to actually get her to hit.

It's a common status ailment in JRPGs, but it was first dubbed "silence" by Square RPGs.

She also does happen to appear alot like a traditional White Mage does.

How useful.

It can be actually. If they J-day during your turn or you J-day during their turn and they only play 1 or 2 Spells afterwards, they'll often bring out a Lock Bird or Veiler with Judgment to thin the deck and to give them another Spellcaster to work with. Then you can surprise them with your Sage and potentially shut their next 2 turns off because they'll have 2 monsters that She can run over. Then you can easily set-up and control the game from there. Might work better in theory than in practice, but still something to consider.

It is exactly 200 attacks points from being amazing in my book. At 1600, it would mean with Power it hits over Junon.

I've never actually given the spellbook mirror to much thought as to how it works out. I'm guessing it's about trying to resolve your Judgement whilst doing anything in your power to stop there's? Though, even killing there Judgement plays with your own Judgement... hmm...

How difficult a match would you guys say it is?
