SUMMONING MAGE
LIGHT
* * * *
[Spellcaster / Xyz / Gemini]
ATK/ 2500   DEF/ 1900

2 level 4 Gemini monsters
This card is treated as a Normal  Xyz Monster while face-up on the field or in the Graveyard. While this card is face-up on the field, you can Normal Summon it to have it become a Xyz Effect Monster with this effect.
● You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card and gain the effect of the detached monsters effect it would gain if it is Normal Summoned.

Everyone is on a Gemini kick! Anyway, I love the idea behind the card. I honestly can't find anything wrong with the card, which makes this card kinda redundant, but whatever. I guess I could go with a different name, but that is a trivial matter and I am just nitpicking now. Great card.

Great card. A bit slow for my tastes, and also a bit weak. Very creative, however.

I would have to say in most scenarios you would Normal Summon the 2nd Gemini to reach two on the field, then Xyz Summon this and it would be a weaker Gem-Knight Pearl until your next turn, assuming it survives, in which most cases it won't as it doesn't pass the 2500 threshold, and these days even cards that do tend to die rather instantly.

Yeah, I'm not so great at the name picking...

Thanks!

Well like I inferred, it's never been done before.

A 25 beater is that bad at all it's average. It could be a bit slow having to Normal summon it once again but this effect popped right into my head when I thought "Hey, let's make a Gemini Xyz." But imagine this card detaching a card like Future Samurai, it gets an immediate popping effect.

Thanks for the reply!

But with Future Samurai, you could've just NSed it that turn instead of a second material and popped something, then still have a Gemini Spark target. I'm simply stating the fact you have to wait a turn is a tad slow. I can't really think of any suggestions that don't involve removing this card's Gemini status aside from perhaps adding an effect to this card to make it so you can discard a card when it is Summoned to gain an additional NS/Set, that way you could discard to instantly get this guy's effect.

But normal summoning Future Samurai by waiting another turn of it being on the field and have another gemini is on your field, there's a higher chance of it getting destroyed the following turn then using both level 4 gemini monsters to bring out a 25 beater that, even if its effect cant be used, will stay longer on the field then next turn you can activate samurai's eff AND be able to use the other guy's eff.

But you can use Spark IF you have it in you're hand, in which case, you wouldn't necessarily want to summon Mage right away, but it honestly depends on the chance whether or not you have Spark.

Decks that can't answer a Dark Magician are not good Decks, and that is basically what this guy is. If you manage to use his effect on the next turn, your opponent is obviously in such a bad place draw-wise or their Deck lacks the ability to compete with half the un-tiered Decks out there and were bound to lose. A samurai that offers an instant +1 is better then going into a -1 for a Normal Monster, giving your opponent a big chance to plus. You basically put a lightning rod on your field for destruction.

Plus, it isn't that hard to get cards to run it over these days, destruction effects aside. Grapha, E-Dragons, Ophion (really any Rabbit Play in existance), etc.

He is just a bit too slow to really bring anything to the type. All this being said, I would just like to see him have some sort of speed increasing option (built in, ofc. I know you can use Double Summon).

Now, if you feel like keeping him slow, I wouldn't mind seeing him able to detach both materials for both effects of the Gemini monsters.

"Detach 2 Xyz Materials to gain the effects those cards would gain if they were Normal Summoned while on the field." Something like that.
