X-Metaman
Number 4: Stealth Kraken the Deadly Poisonous Jellyfish WATER/Aqua 1900 ATK/1500 DEF 2 Level 4 WATER monsters. Cannot be destroyed by battle except with "Number" monsters. Once per turn, during either player's turn: You can target 1 WATER monster on the field; destroy that target, and if you do, inflict damage to the controller equal to that monster's ATK. If this card is destroyed: You can Special Summon a number of "Number 4: Stealth Kraken the Deadly Poisonous Jellyfish" or "Stealth Kraken Ephyra" from your Extra Deck or Graveyard, except this card, equal to the number of Xyz Material that were attached to this card. Each of the Xyz Material(s) that were attached to this card when it was destroyed are attached to an Xyz Monster Special Summoned by this card's effect. Stealth Kragen Ephyra WATER/Aqua 1900 ATK/1500 DEF 2 Level 4 WATER monsters Same effect as Number 4, except the "Cannot be destroyed by battle except with "Number" monsters" effect. Well since the cards don't detach Xyz Materials, they will just Summon each other each time they are destroyed... Discuss
Zazubat
Isn't there like something about jellyfish being immortal? That makes sense in the context of the effect.
heraldry_lord
This Number has become a lot more interesting. If it stays as is, it might be good enough to have a legit deck around it. inb4 they remove either the spawn effect entirely or the ability to destroy itself. Zazubat
inb4 they remove either the spawn effect entirely or the ability to destroy itself. Why the hell would they remove the ability to destroy itself? I see no reason to do that, unless you really wish to hurt yourself for some reason (only reason I could see is for Chaos monsters)

EDIT: Re-read it, and realized it was the controller that takes the Damage. My bad.
玄魔の王
Normally I'd applaud a really unique effect like this and the flavour it comes with, but I don't like that they're effectively the same card.

Them being the same monster effectively represents jellyfish reproduction and the fact that certain jellyfish just don't die.
Thomas★Zero
Theirs something I liked to point out based on todays episode where either Stealth Kraken or those minor Jellyfish Xyz's used their effect to destroy Number 15 a Dark monster and inflicted 1500 damage to IV even though stated it could only destroy water monsters so wouldn't that make it generic destruction instead of Water only? O.e edit: I found out why since a card called Jelly Rain makes all monsters Water.
heraldry_lord
Kurage used a Spell Card to make all monsters on the field WATER.
Thomas★Zero
Fix your spoiler. I tried to though it just oddly turns out like that if I put something between spoilers normally.
heraldry_lord
I tried to though it just oddly turns out like that if I put something between spoilers normally. Eh it's ok. I personally don't mind spoilers anyhow. Anyway, to answer your question, Kurage used this Spell Card to make all monsters on the field WATER. Toffee.
Ahh, so the monsters Number 4 Summoned aren't Tokens after all, but other Xyzs the same effect.Aside from the fact that's a ridiculous, it's also pretty original.Though.... I like how as soon as Number 4 is destroyed, it basically creates an attack-lock.
Aerion Brightflame
The nerf on this will be interesting... But I get the feeling that it'll be nerfed to just summon two tokens when it gets released. If that. Though given it's not generic, it could get away with it not being changed drastically. Or something like that. It's a very neat idea though.
Mugendramon
Well it can instantly become 2 of itself/the other thing.
evilfusion
It's not bad the way it is, really. It's only got 1900 ATK and requires 2 Level 4 WATER monsters. More often than not, you'd probably prefer Bahamut Shark to this for the same Materials and a nice effect. Its destruction effect only works on WATER monsters, which aren't that common other than Mermails. However, being a Quick Effect and having no cost is too much for this effect, since some WATER monsters have really good ATK, and because it's a free Quick Effect once per turn, this could turn grossly unfair. DNA Transplant FTW. When destroyed, Summoning the other monster or other Number 4 is...actually really interesting, but it Summons the same number as it had Material, and from Extra Deck or Graveyard. This pretty much clogs your Extra Deck for essentially unkillable monsters...except the other Xyz has the exact same effect and stats, which is a bad thing. In the anime, it makes sense because Numbers are one-of-a-kind cards, so it simulates the concept of having multiple copies of Number 4. The issue with the RL release will be the fact there's no reason to run the other monster if you have Number 4, or vice versa. Number 4 will at least get things like Number Wall and so on to help out, but that's pretty much the extent this goes, and I don't see it likely they'll release 2 Xyz monsters with the same effect, stats, and Summon Conditions, but one of them is a Number. So I expect the RL version will not SS from Graveyard, OR it won't use a second Xyz monster at all and will just use Tokens or similar.
Northern Sage
Also, they are pretty decent Bahamut targets themselves, considering none of its effects need materials. Probably tokens, considering their aversion towards using more abstract effects atm.

Bahamut only gets Rank 3s, but I don't think that was your point here?
