Nidhöggr and Yggdrasil Ritual Cards

While we're still waiting for this thread to be moved, let's go through the usual routine.
This card is used to Ritual Summon "Nidhoggr". You have to sacrifice 3 must also Tribute monsters to Summon Nidhoggr from your hand or field whose total Levels equal 8 or more.
Standard text for Ritual Spells require that you match the Tribute Levels with the target monster, at least.
You can Ritual Summon this card with "Yggdrasil". When your opponent activates a card effect: You can discard a 1 card; from your hand to cancel any effect from the opponent negate that activation. At the start of the Damage Step, if this card attacked a face-down Defense Position monster: You can destroy that monster immediately without flipping it face-up or applying damage calculation, and if you do, inflict the opponent 500 damage to your opponent.
It's rare to see cards that negate effect activations but don't destroy the source card. I suppose that's in exchange for a relatively easy and continuous source of effect negation.

Maybe if you made more Ritual Monsters based off the inhabitants of Yggdrasil, then the Yggdrasil Ritual Spell can extend to being able to Summon those monsters.

@guardianfire: The reason why the diaeresis "o" is missing from this card is because the Matrix font used in the cardmaker doesn't support it (although it appears on the Ritual Monster just fine).

In any case, the monster is not too bad. Yeah, the card discard is cheap for negating effects, but I assume that's so it counterbalances how it doesn't destroy the card. 2nd effect is nice for getting rid of hypothetical stuff like Spirit Reaper, Marshmallon that could be face-down and a bit of burn damage. Stats are decent for a Level 8 monster

I'm not too familiar with Norse mythology, but you might want to make more cards the Ritual Card can support, besides this. (Or give it an additional effect to have it tie in more to the myths)

@Luca: Ritual Monsters and their corresponding Spell count as a single card here; so it can stay in this section for the time being until TC makes new cards.

Other cards you might want to create:

 • Dainn/Dvalinn/Duneyrr/Durathror, the four stags on the branches of Yggdrasil
 • Vedfolnir, the eagle perched atop Yggdrasil
 • Ratatoskr, the squirrel that runs up and down the tree as a messenger between Vedfolnir and Nidhoggr

In fact, why not make them a named archetype?
