This card cannot declare a direct attack. When this card is Normal Summoned: You can target 1 card you opponent controls; return that target to their hand. During your opponent's Main Phase: You can declare an attack using this card. You can only activate this effect if this card didn't declare an attack during your previous Battle Phase.

This is a version of the card that lost in my 1v1 against Infinite Rainbow. The only change is that this has 1700 ATK instead of the 2000 ATK is used to have. I was going more for flavor on this card, so take that into consideration. Also, I don't know how to word the second effect so it cannot go around effects that prevent attacking during your turn, since this can bypass that as is. So, CnC?

Back in 2008, I made a crab card with a similar effect. It was messy on rulings.

Would you say this is a sort of.. quick thing? Like, your opponent Summons the monster it requires for that Synchro Summon, and you just immediately attack the Tuner and ruin it?

The fact it needs to not have attacked normally helps, and I'm not against out-of-the-box effects. Though it might be messy. Boost it's ATK and you'll be attacking Draccosacks before they get a chance to make the Tokens, or the Big Eye before it gets the chance to do anything at all.

Some of that can be achieved with a bonus when you realize Horn of the Phantom Beast combos nicely.

Really, swarming decks that can come back easily could outplay it, but other than that, the more slow control ones will have a hard time not getting their cards destroyed upon touching the field.

That is of course, if the attack is as flexible in timing as a quick effect would be.

Not to mention that since it's an attack rather than an effect, your opponent can't exactly chain an effect. It'll be bizzare using Mirror Force during your own Main Phase.

Also, how does it work when this card gets revived during your opponent's Main Phase? It technically didn't attack during your last Battle Phase.

The random "return 1 card to hand" effect should probably not be there. Both effects are worth dedicating a card for them, and you are putting 2 good effects together. It could be unnecessarily good. Besides, the "attack on Main Phase" is the main point of this card.
