(Sora Singles) Noctus the Night Wisp

I'm sure some of you have noticed my absence recently.  Crew and school are demanding, and X/Y is enticing, so time on YCM is the corner I had to cut.

Fall season is over for the next month and a half, so I may become more activate again.  Or I may fade into nothing and pursue augmenting my social life.  Or maybe both, who knows.

But for now, a single I made a while back but never posted.

Comment, review, rate, hate, whatever.  Enjoy!

Once per turn, during either turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; change 1 monster you control to face-down Defense Position. The effects remind me of Ghostricks and I think this card would have a place along them by gaining protection from Ghostrick Mansion and flipping any Ghostrick you control you want face-down. Also, Ghostricks should be able to Summon this with their Level 2 Spellcasters.

The first effect clashes with the second one: If you use the first effect, then you won't be able to activate his quick effect during the opponent's turn to hide from attacks. However, that first effect is great during the following turns after this card was Summoned where you can flip it face-up "manually" and destroy something. The second effect is good for reusing flip effects or at least avoiding battle damage, and of course Ghostricks can find it helpful.

The card is good. Although it needs 1 turn to set up, it can be protected with Mansion and backrow, and after that he is essentially a +1 every turn as long as he stays alive. Unfortunately, it looks like this card is only good in Ghostricks, because without their support it's open to the opponent's attacks and effects and you can't guarantee its safety with only backrow.

The card is pretty good. As said above, it seems to like Ghostricks' play-style.

Although it seems like both effects clash, I think it still has plenty of use too. It escapes Battle Phase cards like D. Prison and Mirror Force, while it resets it's Ryko-like effect. That is always nice, especially with that respectable DEF it has.

Overall a pretty solid card.
