Cursed Prison- Should it be made?

Special Summon 1 Synchro Monster from your Extra Deck in face-up Defense Position. That monster cannot activate its effect, its effects are negated, and it cannot change its battle position. If this card is removed from the field, destroy that monster. If that monster is removed from the field, destroy this card.

 

So, it can be used to get materials out for Accel/Delta Accel, can be used as an Xyz Material, or makes a good target for Formula to Synchro with. Should Konami make this? Does it need further weakening? Discuss.

Since Xyz exist, it'd be a very bad idea to print this, even with those downsides. It'd be too easy to make high Rank Xyz with Galaxy Queen's Light or just easily Summoned high Level monsters.

Yeah, Xyz kinda ruined everything. But if that is an issue, than why is Deep Space Cruiser 9 not an issue? Or Metal Reflect Slime? Star Eater isn't even an issue, since he can't be Summoned by this. Maybe Level 7s and 8s can be spammed. But Dragon Rulers already do 7 enough, in my opinion. But then again, you can combo it in the actual deck.

If it were made, should it be limited, like in the video game series?

And yes, it is kind of spammable. I think it would be limited, and lose much of its over-poweredness. I mean, 3= Formula, T.G. Hyper Librarian, Catastor=Quasar. I can see why that might be an issue, but you can get Quasar with 3 cards anyway. XD

Oh yes, a great point. King of Useless might have a use if this were to happen. See, I see a card like that, and then it clicks why it shouldn't come out. The combos you can do often play a bigger role than the actual card itself. But playing this guy is just asking to lose the very next turn. XD

While I mentioned Xyz specifically, it is not ONLY Xyz that makes the card problematic. Also, Deep Space and Metal Reflect are Level 9 and 10. It lacks the flexibility this card represents. It can Summon almost ANY Synchro, of any Level. You want a Rank 7 Material? Grab Ancient Fairy Dragon or something. Rank 8? Stardust/etc. Rank 9? Sure.

 

Metal Reflect is a Level 10, and will always be a Level 10 unless modified with other effects. This card offers flexibility that mere "Summon high Level monster" cards don't do quite as well.

 

The Synchro shenanigans, however, are much more noteworthy.

Got some tips for the video game (TF6) now. 

Maybe the "even if this card leaves the field, or the monster targeted by this card becomes unaffected by card effects" clause? (In regards to negated effects returning)

If it cannot contribute to easier Accel/Delta Accel or to high-Rank Xyzs, then it loses much of it's variety, but it'd still be a good wall and a Tribute fodder card. Mega Monarchs would be happy at the very least, and Miracle Synchro Fusion would be easier to use too.

It's not free Tribute because the Trap Card itself is being taken account of. You'd lose the same advantage than from Special Summoning a Cyber Dragon and Tributing it.

 

Also, the list in Yugioh is not ideal, it has a few cards that shouldn't be where they are and lacks some cards that should be in it Though, that doesn't make it a good thing, so I still wouldn't encourage taking that mindset. Konami has to also worry about business, Though, I could not imagine someone going to the Realistic Cards section of the forum and saying that X card is fine because you could place it at 1 next September.
