Madolche Queen Tiaramisu

[Rank 4/EARTH/Fairy/Xyz/Effect/ATK 2200/DEF 2100]

2 Level 4 "Madolche" monsters

Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then target up to 2 "Madolche" cards in your Graveyard; shuffle those cards into the Deck, then shuffle cards your opponent controls into the Deck, up to the number of cards returned.

The boss monster of Madolches.  Tiaramisu ended up replacing Puddingcess as the Madolche boss monster, because she is easy to Summon, and her effect is much more powerful.  To be honest, this card is one of those Xyz that makes one wonder if the creators were smoking something, and this is mainly for two reasons:

1.) Her form of removal, shuffling cards into the Deck, has very few direct counters.  Also a good Madolche player can often Summon a second one to make your life miserable. Additionally she can shuffle up to two, not one, cards into the Deck, and this is just from a single detach.  Your only hope to stopping the sweet insanity is killing her on-Summon, or using Veiler/Fiendish Chain/Breakthrough Skill before she lays waste to your field advantage.

2.) Her effect doesn't target the opponent's cards.  Her effect targets her controller's "Madolche" cards, but based on that text, she doesn't target the cards that she's actually tasked with pushing out of her way, and since this effect doesn't destroy either, that Obelisk, Dracossack, Bujin Yamato and Maestroke that you've been hiding behind is as good as gone.

3.) She's a Fairy.  As a Fairy, Tiaramisu turns Madolche Ticket from a search card into a spam card.  Just by being there on the field, she can overwhelm you with desserts.

Tiaramisu, when judged by herself, is actually downright broken for a 2-material Rank 4 that can be Summoned much more easily than Photon Alexandra Queen, but Madolches still suffer some consistency issues (even with Hootcake and Ticket), they're still overshadowed by Dragon Rulers and Mermails (at least to my knowledge), and their art can be a turn-off to a number of people. For these reasons, and possibly others, Tiaramisu hasn't been a serious threat to the meta thus far, but one wonders if or when it will, because it is definitely capable of being so.

Furthermore, if the new Madolche in Primal Origin is a Fairy-Type monster and has a remotely decent effect, shenanigans may ensue; it's too soon to tell though, since we don't know her effect or stats.

That is basically what's wrong with the card. The OP pretty much summarizes it.

It's a prime example of bad design overall. It's completely stupid on it's own. Somewhere down the line the game went from "discard a card to destroy a card" to "add 2 monsters from your Graveyard to your hand, shuffle 2 cards from your opponent's deck into the deck, and Special Summon 1 monster from your deck, with a cost that already payed for itself when it was used for the Summon anyways".

It also has the  nerve to not have a OPT clause for when 2 copies can be brought out.

There's no way around the argument. If the archetype it's played with doesn't have something going for it without her, you should have spent more time play-testing said archetype and distributing the power better. If the archetype that plays this monstrosity IS strong, then the more reason to say this card is dumb.

I started playing Madolches back before she came out, and they were not really all that amazing at all. When I started using her, my opponent's always ended up in a bad mood because of it. The card can grant you a win, that just feels undeserved. It'd be much more balanced if she was a Chidori, and Chidori's design is already questionable to me as is so that's saying something.

I can testify; as a hardcore player of pure-EARTH Madolches, I can testify to Tiaramisu's strength. And yes, it is quite overpowered and insanely destructive. Even if the cost to activate the effect is essentially counterproductive to what Madolches are built to do, with the advent of Madolche Hootcake and how the deck is now played with other tech cards (Veiler, Maxx "C", etc...I use E-Teleport and the Psychic Tuners myself), the cost isn't hard to achieve at all. The fact that it doesn't target and sends back to Deck is pretty nasty. My friends actually refuse to duel me anymore because of it, not that I'm too peeved over that. :P

That said, I can earnestly say that despite the fact that going for Tiaramisu is basically our ace play, it's not the only one that is possible. I have won a number of duels without summoning Tiaramisu at all, without the aid of mass destruction Spells. That said, I do use some other pretty OP cards to assist; this Trap-heavy format is especially susceptible to Naturia Barkion, which I find myself Summoning pretty often. That, and Naturia Beast is always accessible, though it's not quite as viable this format.

But I'm getting off topic. Yeah, Tiaramisu is pretty broken. The only thing that keeps it from getting hit is the fact that it's played in Madolches and ONLY Madolches.

That's often how some cards are ridiculous, but never get hit. Tiaramisu is Madolche specific, so until Madolches get good enough to be top-tier, Tiaramisu won't get hit, because it's only relevant in that Deck, and that Deck isn't relevant (enough) to the meta. It's the same reason that cards like Heraldic Beast Leo or Rekindling have never gotten list attention despite having ridiculously good plays.

Think about this: Raiza was at one point limited for it's ability to spin a target to the top of the deck when it's first summoned. This annoying PIA spins any 2 cards it damn well pleases cause for whatver reason she doesn't target wit the "cost" of adding 2 back to the hand and summoning one from the deck once per turn. Mind you she's a 2x4 Xyz with a 2200/2700 body in an archetype that literally goes from no cards on board to this plus MXS Invoker and backrow for doing nothing but summoning a bird or a cat. She's the sole reason I hate the archetype with such a BURNING passion.

This pretty much changed the whole goal of Madolche from keeping the grave clean for stuffs and conservation of resouce into Tiaramisu Turbo deck(hootcake existing didn't really help, but she is the main culprit). A +5 is always ridiculous, and that's enough to make people runn bad things just to quickly access this card, and still win sometimes, due to how big of a gamechanger this card is. Still, I'm glad Madolche can't spam this card willy-nilly like other decks with their boss. Rather than this, they should've released better S/Ts and monsters that have solid synnergies with each other. Bad design, but atleast the artwork is cute.

Have you ever played the fuckers

Yes? Palooza is shit because it's a complete ass draw, only does things that are useful when you've used Tiara with Ticket out (which alone basically means you win, making it stupid and win-moar), it's slow as shit in a Deck that needs to be as fast as possible, and a whole host of other problems.

Palooza is shit. End of story.

7/10 times their win condition is using Palooza to drop a whole hand ala Samurai and beat you to death.

lmao, not even. palooza doesn't give you a winning hand when you wouldn't have one anyways, and when you DONT have the winning hand palooza might as well be gate guardian.

their win condition is playing the advantage game by sitting on tiaramisu with chateau and ticket. palooza has absolutely zero to do with any of that. like, angineer is a card now and because it can both protect tiaramisu and feed its effect for another shot of mew+whoever or hoot, the already questionable choice of palooza becomes absolutely dead.

Okay this stuff you say is true, and I'll admit I haven't seen the deck in ages. But!

Palooza is not a dead card as long as you have stuff in your hand. And if you don't have stuff in your hand or chateau chances are you're losing either way.

The thing is that Madolces pretty much have risk-free pushing. Aside from the stray Bottomless or lolCompulse, at worst they'll be delaying the play. Madolce can both play the waiting game as you said, or go full auto and suffer from minimal setback since everything just goes back to the hand anyway- given you didn't Xyz anyway.

It's a card which exists solely for pushing. With this in mind it could be seen as winmoar- or as win faster.

Palooza is a card you CAN run at 1. And you may even see results off of it. But considering you wanna play non-madolche to make Hoot more live (I use Cardcar, Maxx, and Spell Striker) that means it's slightly harder to make Palooza live. Can you run it? Yeah, but with the other options avaiable to you I wouldn't. It's like the guy who tries to make Exodia FTK and makes the deck less all around functional to go for the one goal (ignoring the fact most of exodia isnt functional already of course)

As a Madolche player, I've run Madolchepalooza at 0, 1, and 2 at various points for testing. 2 made for waaaay too many dead draws to count, and at 0 I always missed it when I wanted it. Madolchepalooza at 1 in a Madolche deck seems to be pretty optimal, since it isn't always needed but when it is it can be searched out by a number of things, whether it be through a Messengelato search or a Marmalmaide recovery (usually the former in my case).

Yes, it can clog with Veilers, Maxx C, Cardcars, Trags, etc. but I find it helps a lot more than it hurts. That said, I have had my fair share of times when I utterly hated getting Madolchepalooza in my hand and ended up never using it.
